I have a gut feeling that Westcountry Live MAY get a new look from monday.

Why does my tumy rumble at this prospect? Well, I noticed a terrible Chromakey effect with Alexis Bowater on the 10.30 headline optout, (a quarter of her face was missing!), this suggests to me that that sequence was made from the bulletin studio. Then the 10.50 optout was done in the small bulletin studio, usually that broadcast is made from the main studio.

I know usually they mention any new look in their friday programme, but as i didn't see it, I wouldn't know if they did this time.

I may be wrong about my rumblings, but usually when a new look looms, the telltale signs are that all bulletins are made from the bulletin studio from Fridayt night onwards.

The real test will be during this afternoons news and scoreboard bulletin. If thats made from the CSO studio, then I am sure that the new look will be with us by monday.

And the main 6pm programme on Friday was an OB ... the plot thickens.

Is this when we see the point that Westcountry moves to Bristol?
Or are they getting the generic studio in Plymouth?
It is bound to be a generic studio whereever it is.

This was in the Evening Herald last week:

I wonder what they'll go for as they're adopting the generic set, some blue quares or a view of Plymouth?

Good to see more Regions getting the Generic set, only ITV Wales, Central South, Anglia and Border are left to go.

Anglia should be getting the generic set when Anglia News moves back to Anglia House in November.

Or a pre-recorded loop of the Tamar bridges (a la ITV West)?

I thought we were expecting an ITV rebrand soon?

Maybe some new music. The set was pretty bad colour wise. Wouldn't it be great if they brought back the W? Rolling Eyes But that will never happen.

Well hopefully we will get something new tomorrow. Certainly it's been difficult to tell over the weekend as they normally use the CSO studio for weekend bulletins anyway, and for early mornings, so maybe the first chance will be during the ITV Lunchtime News tomorrow - although I suspect they will keep it as a "revelation" for the 6pm main news. Sad

No doubt it will be generic ITV Shocked (and Londonesque). Despite the forthcoming revamp of idents by BBC Broadcast/CBS , I suspect that the corporate yellow/blue will remain for ITV News.
