If you were doing that kind of shuffle, and if doing London from E (starting on the catwalk) were viable, wouldn't putting Newsnight in D be less disruptive?
The NC could either go to Salford for sport during the London opt or simulcast with World in C.
I would have thought that the easiest solution is to go back to 54D which looked fine (to me) in the run-up to the Election last year.
It was 34D. At least in the interim that would be the most feasible if Studio B is remaining mothballed indefinitely. So long as they don't bring back that bodged VD style desk they had going the election

My bad - the studio names get rather odd after Studio V.
Is there any reason why Newsnight can't come from C and WN and NC simulcast from E. Perhaps the WNA presenter can do the news summary at 10.30 BST and then WN joins the NC for The Papers.
Newsnight can use purple lighting and their London backdrop in C - and hopefully at some point The Papers could go back to using their AR graphics.

Techincal reasons means WNA has to use C, for some reason,

Isn't it because the Washington studio doesn't have a proper/full gallery, so it needs to be routed through a NBH gallery to make it to air?

It now does have a full gallery. Someone from Ross said there’s supposed to be a graphics channel and Overdrive automation. So in theory they could originate. But from what I understand most is still controlled in Gallery C - and things like camera switching, package playout and graphics occur there.

Sure putting Newsnight in D would be less disruptive, but it is much smaller, not really worthy of a flagship news programme. (Take note Breakfast).
True (although it's bigger than 34D?). There probably is a question about whether Newsnight from E is viable when things return to normal and they want to do pieces with multiple studio guests.

I suppose the counter argument to that is do things need to go back to normal? If it cost significantly more to have multiple guests in studio for a debate, is the cost justifiable compared to just doing it DTL?
