So, Fiona Armstrong is still around then? I thought she was good years ago on News at Ten. She had one of those wonderful accents - matched only by Carol Barnes's equally unique accent - which made her something of a rarity.
Does she (Fiona) do any other broadcasting on national tv back in the UK now?
It would seem that quite a number of the ITV regions are in for set changes in the near future - STV shortly too!!

Yes, she has presented Lookaround with Tim Backshall since the late-nineties now. Quite a good partnership.
She has done fishing programmes for some Sky Tv channels, but no, she isn't on national tv anymore.
I must admit I was quite surprised to hear Border were getting a new set, they usually have the same set for years! The outgoing one has only been in use since February 2004.

Oh dear, a bit of a cringeworthy Lookaround tonight. They have lost the satellite link to Tim Backshall in South Cumbria, and the whole programme is being anchored by Fiona in the newsroom, with reports beginning " Thanks Tim ....".

Yes, I quite liked it to be honest. Lookaround has always suited a desk-driven look, and I'm not sure how it will look with the benches (if that is what they doing).
On another note, Border's Sarah Elliot is joining ITV Granada Reports. It was her last day at Border today, and there was a look back at her time at Border. Shame, she was one of the best reporters and presenters. Border seem to be losing all the good ones, they lost Andrew Farmer to somewhere in Moscow a few months ago.

Does anyone of you guys remember Mary Marquis presenting and announcing at Border years ago? Did she actually present news with the channel, or did she just do CA?
What's the new set likely to be like? Is it likely to conform to the generic ITV regional look, or was it already like that?

Sorry, but I've never been a fan. I suppose for Border, it's quite good, but the whole thing looks incredibly dingey to me... and the way they've stuck on the blue and yellow squares, all on one piece of cardboard (rather than individual squares) looks cheap in the extreme.
