I think many people are forgetting the short-lived version of the ITN logo that was used c. 1992-1994 which had a white/grey bevelled edge and was shown 'suspended' over a white/grey background. The 'counters' (the space within the letter outlines) were made opaque blue. The letters were also made fatter like how this latest 'redesign' has done. However sometime in around Oct '94 they reverted to the more classic logotype, simplifying it back, even more than before, by removing all colour (inner and outer) and using pure white on a pure blue background, which they continued to use, up until yesterday.
Oh yes, and my opinion??? Yeeeuucch. (Is there a 'vomiting' emoticon? No? Shame.)
