But judging from the banner on the website, LDN-style is happening...

Looks like it'll be Sara/Lukwesa/Sarah-Leigh and a plasma screen by the looks of things....

It looks really good, I'll be watching at 6.30 tomorrow evening. They have updated their website quickly, it takes months sometimes to update stuff like that on other websites.

Looks to me to be a News 24-type spoof. I think its all very professional looking, but it's a shame to see the back of the window-on-the-world behind Anne, Dom, Lisa + co.

Anyway, I can't wait to see Mel at 6.25 tomorrow morning (Yes, it is her, she said so at the end of today's bulletin!) I wonder if they'll introduce the MT style of Breakfast bulletins (With news, weather, travel, etc. on screen)?

It's not a desk - it IS a worktop! The bloke behind is standing up!

That's not a bloke - that's Mel Coles - one of East Midlands Today's women presenters....

On this page of the East Midlands Today website - you can see behind the scenes of how the set was created, that is if anybody is interested (just click on the "complete set" link at the bottom of the text)...

Yuck at that breakfast bar style desk, and those stools, they have so much space yet decide to all gather round that contraption. I take it there is another area ?

These BBC revamps just get worse.

Backdrop - BBC Breakfast rip-off.
Desk - Failed attempt at a BBC South Today style set.

I'll reserve full judgement until I see it this evening, but so far marks out of ten for groundbreaking set design originality - 1.1

(the .1 is for not going down the road of BBC Points West makeovers)

The backdrop looks great on the wideshot, but on the closeshots behind the newsreader it looks dreadful.... just too blurred

Looking at the webcam it seems they can't turn the desk off, the projectors and lights are all off yet the desk still glows birght red (yuk)

Looks like quite a good cheap solution! It seems strange that the EMT image is white on red though.

Doesn't look cheap to me - I love the look of things, can't wait to see it all in action tonight!
Looking at that 'tour' of the new set, one caption says that all the graphics are changed to a 'new style' - I wonder how new those graphics will actually be - I bet they just get rid of the cheap orange gradient effect and use solid red.
