Apparently CNBC Europe will be getting a new look soon, which will include the dropping of "Europe" from the on-air name (to bring it into line with CNBC Asia, which is now known simply as CNBC on-air).

The article doesn't mention much in the way of other changes - they might finally adopt the US music and title sequences, although given that the current US look must be nearing its end (its been around nearly three years now which is a long time for a CNBC US look) I would have thought they would wait for the next one?

Here are some of the graphics used by CNBC in Asia. Wonder if any of them will be used in Europe.

Asia's looks good, but I actually like their current package.

I wonder will the new look mean they will bring back Tonight Show with Jay Leno in its full 45-minute slot along with Conan O'Brien's latenight.

The channel made a mistake taking Conan off and cutting down Jay's show to just 30-minutes on weeknights.

Yes we want business news but also some entertainment from the mess the business world is in at the moment.

After all they still show the terrible Poker at midnight, couldn't this be used for Tonight Show and Late Night on weeknights?

I think they may be planning to ditch the Poker Channel programming and start showing Asia Squawk Box five times a week instead of the current once a week. Although it probably won't happen but they could relegate the Tonight show to weekends only. The precedent for this is that CNBC in Asia only shows the Tonight show at weekends and doesn't show Conan at all!.

I hope they do not relegate Jay and Conan to weekends. Diva TV has doen this with Late Show with David Letterman since June 2008.

I know CNBC Europe did only show Jay and Conan at weekends before 2005, then moved them to weeknights and now the current situation has been in place since March 2007.

Just it is a shame as there are plenty of fans of US talkshows out there and we seem to be treated with some contempt by tv channels, just look at how many channels in the UK have bounced around Letterman, ITV2, Sky One, ITV4, etc.

More4 and FX seem only the ones to keep them - Daily Show on More4 has been there consistenly since 2005 and Colbert on FX since May 2008.

So there is an audience for them and I would hope CNBC would understand this?

I've seen a copy of the Press Release on it. It confirms the coming Monday re-brand but does not detail any programme changes, other then to say there will be some in the coming months.

Not much change in the new main idents. Just missing the 'Europe'.

A big changed is that the replay of Europe Tonight has been dropped and from 10.00pm to 11.30pm weeknights they have Leno and Conan.
