Ever heard of a shaver more like.

I don't like it, but I never watch C4 News anyway so I don't suppose it matters to me! Just repeating what people have already said really, bad font, bad colour...

More images from C4 News here - I've been busy today! Embarassed

I thought that too.

I wonder if they only finished enough of the set overnight for today's show, and there's more to come next week ...?

Do you think the bit Samira was at will be where News at Noon will come from?

On the previous set the NaN desk always looked out of place.

I take it that when the first main programme is back we will see a new main desk, or maybe something a bit different, maybe no desk - just standing up??

The theme actualy reminds me of the Breakfast News '97 election re-mix, for some reason - although i like the new theme, it doesn't seem as powerfull as the previous theme.

Oh, and I like the new set.

I think the other half of the studio probably isn't finished. The part that Samira was presenting from is probably where the usual summary news will come from, but I noticed in front of Samira, ie. where the cameras would be, the set was built in there and they had a guest sitting at the opposite side of the desk from Samira.

I think they will have the same variation of the new desk in the main part of the studio, but probably lower, unless Jon will also sit behind a proper desk from now on. But the change to the stack of screens ( ie. the adding of the frame ) probably means that side of the set will remain much the same, but lighter.

Yep - my gut feeling is that ITN is so dependent on desktop editing (using quite an old Quantel/Omnibus solution) that coping with 16:9 and 4:3 might be a bit of a problem. (The even older BBC News 24/World solution is better at this as it isn't based on "desktop" editing, instead it uses normal video techniques rather than PC based systems for editing)

Considering they've had to change the set between the bulletins on the 30th and 31st they've probably only changed the half of the set - the part that was needed today

Well it looks good to me, quite basic, but at least not as over-the-top as ITV news...

(Don't like any of the idents I've seen though.)

It did amuse me to hear her say at this point, "I spoke to Mr Benn earlier".

As if by magic, a new look appeared!

The new astons also animate similarly to ITV News, except from the right of the screen. The just fade OFF the screen though.

Most interesting bit of the titles was how the programme opened:

Also here's a bit more of the studio to show that extra bit where there was nothing before:

I'm also pretty sure the videowall bit hadn't been finished yet and will be ready for next week - this was the only part of the studio they'd have needed for the short updates which were originally scheduled.

Apologies for the fuzzyness of the captures!
