Pardon my language but, WTF? The lower third graphics are completely unchanged. They still use the old Gill Sans logo and look as ugly as ever. Bit of a letdown as they're the most important presentation on the channel.

The ident's nice though.

It's ridiculous that they're still using the old graphics - when they have refreshed the idents. You'd think that the graphics used for Parliamentary programming would be radically changed up.

Why bother is the first thing that springs to mind. Was this a BBC Creative project do we know?

Wow.. some rather poor (what feels like google scraped images) randomly whizzing around, mainly looking like a you tube cycle channel promo. I could have done that in 15mins in after effects, where's the detail, the depth, the clever "the working cogs of Parliament" theme. Is that music from a stock library?

Yeah, not a fan.

Presumably someone thought the predominantly red visuals could be construed as a little biased and therefore multicolours were required, and left the design brief at that.

The rebrand was done in-house by Cath Speight. The music was done externally. I'm hoping to have more info soon, as I've been promised some details about the new look for TV Live.

Sorry, I would have kept the old music at least. No continuity with the logos, which I think the new one is an improvement.

Change for changes sake.

The music on the new idents is unceremonious assault to the ears, repetitive and monotonous is more apt.

I much preferred the old soundtrack accompanying the 2009 cogs idents.

Thinking of better times. (P.S. more perspex models in TV idents please kthx)

Not a fan at all.

Presumably someone thought the predominantly red visuals could be construed as a little biased and therefore multicolours were required, and left the design brief at that.

If so just recolouring the excisting look would have been better.

Although the new ident is visually pleasing, I don't think it makes as good a use of the 'cog concept' as the previous set.

The logo isn't prominent enough, and it doesn't look very corporate.

I was very disappointed to see that they'd done nothing at all with the graphics, which now look as though they belong to another channel.

A missed opportunity. Confused

Yes, disappointing is the word. Given how well the old set worked, and had a nice clarity to them, this rather wishy-washy effort is a real step backwards. Looks more like something I'd expect to see on a local channel, to be honest.
