The current look is definitely a variant of the BBC News branding isn't it?

Absolutely, turning cogs instead of the spinning globe but still looking very similar.

Cogs are still there, don't worry.

Just more err... colour.

Thanks for that. Gives us food for thought. Wonder if these colours will be party political?

Every party colour is represented... but the logo is what I think most people will be looking at!

I wonder if the election logo might become more of an umbrella logo for BBC politics?

Or aligned with the Democracy Live brand they use online?

Really is time they bought the Democracy Live service to connected TVs and IMO replace BBC Parliament with it - not necessarily closing the channel but I think completely rebranding it at a time when interest politics, but not necessarily parliament, is higher than it has been for some time. Putting the TV channel at the centre of the Democracy Live service could really open up the BBC's political coverage to a wider audience.

The logo appears to be the word Parliament in thin Helvetica, next to the BBC blocks like the channel names in 1997, but not quite in line with the BBC blocks. But at least they're giving the intern something to do.

Be careful, that logo now appears on a Google search for 'BBC Parliament logo', don't want any EPG programmers or TV listing magazines using it thinking it's the real deal. (I believe mocks from here have appeared as logos on EPGs etc before in error). Very Happy

Haha, I have noticed that whilst searching for any potential leak of the actual new logo. I would love if it someone inadvertently used it, but I think it's too over-the-top for anyone to see it and think it's a legitimate logo.

We live in a world where Birmingham City Council (West Midlands, England) once published a leaflet that used a photo of Birmingham (Alabama, USA) as its background image, so anything is possible!
