I'm devastated.

So basically you think it'll be renamed "ITV Meridian Tonight"?

I don't think it will be renamed, the logo is just itv, with the text in it, the name will probably still stay the same, "this is Meridian Tonight" or "these are the top stories in Meridian Tonight" or whatever they say.

I think ITV are doing what the BBC used to do with the Opening titles, as all programmes had the BBC News logo at the botton (e.g North West Tonight - BBC News), ITV are doing the same except it just has the new 'itv' logo next to the programme title.

If you look on the "Central News" title screen which is on a previous page you may seen that in the blue lines is a yellow and blue vertical line which reminds me of the current Big Ben shot. Maybe they will keep the big ben shot for the opening but then the blue/light blue lines sweep away the clock to show the rest of the titles.. Just a thought Idea

Martin - I am going to be cheeky and ask if you could do a ITV Scotland Today or North Tonight with purple instead of yellow ITV. It would be interesting to see what it would look like.

I would try it, but am not that artistic (that's being polite about it)

A clock face will feature in the National titles, but not in the Regions.

As at present, then.

I think it all looks quite promising.

I have to say I am intrigued by the new news look.

I am normally a BBC News man myself, but their current regional looks are feeling a bit dated now, and I really do not like the new look BBC London has adopted, so this look is a breath of fresh air!

Well done ITV!

Its probably too much to expect, but I hope they bring back the voiceovers at the start of each programme. It would be nice to hear 'The ITV Evening News with Mark Austin and Mary Nightingale' again!

I did miss them with the relaunch - but now kind of used to the headlines without them so it could interupt the flow of the opening of the programme. I'd like to see a proper ident back at 6.30pm though between the local news and national news - and at 6pm ahead of the regional news.
