I think this warrants a thread of it's own.

Now that ITV has re-branded and changed it's logo somewhat, what does that mean for the ITV regional and national news studios?

Now that the logo isn't 4 horizontal squares, surely the 4 blocks on regional and national ITV news programs look out of place. This one for example:

In a word - nothing. The ITV1 logo still contains four squares (three blue, one yellow) whichever way it is arranged.

Personally, I can't see how the look of any of the ITV channels relates to how the news looks. If ITV News does change, it won't be anything to do with today's rebrand.

If you look on the new style promotions there are still four squares hovering as before! Also the idents still do feature the four squares but in a slightly different arrangement!

Surely now the four horizontal blocks is the itv news logo so this will stay the same.

Actually, I thought I did notice a difference at the start of the Lunchtime News. Where the clockface spins round and reveals the map of Britain which 'explodes' into the blocks, some of the blocks were yellow today, whereas they've previously been all blue.

NO - the other ITV Bulletins do that but the ITV Lunchtime News was adapted a few weeks into the ITV News rebrand complete with lighter blue and yellow blocks! If you look at the right-hand side of the screen you can see the join - where the clock face doesnt line up exactly with the circle of exploding blocks!

Oh well, just goes to show how often I watch the Lunchtime News, I suppose! I think it looks better with some yellow and some blue blocks - and certainly more in keeping with the ITV theme. There's too much blue in the other title sequences, IMO.

Even if there is no new look for ITV News - you have to remember how easy it would be for a refresh - with the studio all being CSO.

Personally I think each news bulletin should have its own look / colours etc., obviously similar to the ITV 1 brand though.

I think if they did change it, it would look awful (applying the new look to the new)

An idea of how it might look: http://www.tvforum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12824

When you think about it, only in the recent months has the ITV News image matched ITV1. Before hand the blue/yellow logo wasn't used (except on astons).

BBC News didn't replace the globe with dancers when BBC1 did - despite Lorraine Heggesey's best efforts!

There was an ever so slight change on the Evening News, nothing maybe but the blue tint was off, the real parts of the studio was less blue than usual, and presenters were more yellow.
