So I wonder (if she

left) where she'll go from here? I would have kept her for Fridays and weekends at least.
Well she's been in the job for 15 years or so, assuming she's staff she'll have a good pay-off. Presumably she decided to take redundancy and move on to other things.

How many years has that London Tonight studio been in use because didn't LWT News use it prior to 1993 as well?
No, LWT news used a windowed studio higher up in the tower itself. LNNs studio was built specially for them.

I actually felt rather sad after hearing the goodbyes from the likes of Jonathan Gould and Anna-Maria Ashe, seeing as they have been there for ages. Presumably Paul Greene will be going too then, although they'll have to find someone to do the morning and lunchtime bulletins regularly if so, as well as some of the reporters. I'm wondering if Nick Clark will go though, any news on him?

I'm sure I remember her on the 6 O'Clock Show also -- she's always reminded me of the weekend, and I much preferred her to Fiona Foster in honesty. LWT Weather later on usually meant Femi Oke as well, which was also a good thing.
Anna Maria Ashe was on LWT News, so she probbaly popped up on some of teh later 6 O Clock show clones - Friday Live and 6 O Clock Live. She wouldn't have been there for the 6 O Clock Show
Sorry yes, I meant 6 O'Clock Live. I'm not sure then what the 6 O'Clock Show was, I only moved to London in 1991. Never really took to that Jeni Barnett though.
Here's that endcap anyway, making up for my mistake

The 6 O'Clock Show was a light entertainment show which proved popular and helped the careers of Janet Street Porter, Danny Baker and Michael Aspel. It was more fun, but it had the Thames News as a segment apparently. Where as 6 O'Clock Live was presented by Frank Bough, but it was more of a mix of light entertainment and News, but it was eventually more News and then it ended in summer 1992.
Shame about LNN ending, shame they wern't allowed more time or anything. When Anna Maria Ashe said her 'firm goodbye' did she mention about the move to ITN, or has ITN been mentioned at all.
Plus what will happen to LNN Transmission? The last I heard it was going to be renamed to ITV.

She said that they had "come to the end of their stay at the London Studios" and there would be "a new team from Monday"

Is that a mistake on the endcap? I thought that London News Network produced its first news bulletin in 1993 when Carlton replaced Thames?

Although they started broadcasting on the 1st January 1993, its fair to assume that LNN would have spent the last six months of 1992 setting up the operation, from hiring staff, commissioning graphics and titles, constructing sets, designing the programme, and a few days before going on-air collecting stories to use on the first few days. I think 1992 is correct.

It was populist features programme rather than 'Light Entertainment' And yes it did have a Thames News bulletin - LWT had no news operation of its own then.
The person responsible for the 6 O Clock Show was Greg Dyke
