BBC London doing what it should be doing tonight...showing London Tonight up to be a **** poor programme.

Interesting to see BBC London being held to account on NewsWatch tonight.

Can't say that I shared the complainant's view that the programme runs a disproportionate number of crime stories.

Don't often watch London Tonight, but all I can say it must be a slow Newsday if the Top Story on the 10.50pm is about the work being carried out on the Escalator at Camden Town Tube Station. Laughing

Yeah, interesting (it's availiable to watch online by the way). Not sure what he expects to see on 'London' News (despite living in Hertfordshire).... but if he doesn't want many crime stories then he's watching the wrong regional news. The London region has a high level of crime, perfectly understandable considering that 1/5th of the population of the country live in the region . Perhaps he ought to invest in a Sky box and watch Anglia/Look East or any of the other regions where virtually nothing happens on a daily basis?

Please tell me you're joking ?!!! I think London Tonight needs a new editor if that is going to be their top story.

I only saw the headline (I'd fallen asleep by the time the bulletin came on!) but I think the story was about Tube maintenance more generally - they had got behind-the-scenes access at Camden Town as part of a PR offensive by one of the Tube maintenance companies.

Robin Lermitte seems to be ITV London's weekend weatherman now. Yesterday he was down by Tower Bridge with a pre-marathon forecast, and today he was at Primrose Hill:

Shame about the dodgy aspect ratio

I'm not a big fan of Robin, he comes over as being wooden.

I was surpised that Becky Mantin didn't get the London gig to be honest.

Where's all this money come from suddenly for a dedicated weather presenter. In a world of cut backs its refreshing to see ITV Local Weather being presented in this manner. I hope it extends elsewhere in the country

To be fair, it's Chrissie weekdays and Robin at weekends. The ITV national team had too many staff when Becky joined, so it makes sense to move them to ITV London.

I think it's a shame Chrissie was the one who got the boot to ITV London, though the good thing being that she isn't always stuck in the Studio.

I also like Becky and Robin presenting the National Weather too, if anything I'm not as keen on Martyn Davies and Sian Lloyd. (No disrespect to either of them)

Anyway back to London Tonight....

Of the two forecasters Meridian have, Martyn is the only one who is in the studio... Gemma hardly ever talks to Debbie & Fred... Confused

And then Martyn keeps being called of to the ITV National Weather...
