It must have been very short notice for Lucrezia to cover considering Nina, Ben nor Faye were available and Charlene is on nights.

I guess it would have been more hassle to find overnight cover for Charlene so she could present London Tonight then just giving Lucrezia the gig. Surprised that even Alexandra wasn't free.

There's the small thing that Alexandra might be slightly pre-occupied with her pregnancy at the moment, plus she's freelance.

With Lucrezia and Charlene being staff, it saves ITN money by not getting in one of the freelancers to cover Charlene's overnight shift.

Alistair and Natasha can do 6.30 and 10, why cant Nina/Charlene/Anyone else do the 6.00 and 10.30?

Ben normally presents the late bulletins on Thursday and Friday.

The late London presenter carries on to present the morning news and Daybreak London updates. Charlene couldn't of presented six, the late bulletin and then go onto to do the Daybreak bulletins.

Right! Didn't know that was how it was done! Although..Alistair did the This morning update and went all the way up to News at Ten at 10.30 when Superstar was on, and I'm sure he would have been in work long before that bulliten in TM.

With Alistair it's different, he's been well known for covering all of the days bulletins, particularly on Friday. Although it it quite rare nowadays.

If it was that desperate that somebody had to present all three bulletins then I imagine they would, sometimes the late London presenter ends up doing the morning update some days but if they can keep to a set routine of shifts then they will.

Alistair covers all except 5.30, yet Mark Austin is Head Anchor or whatever..and all he does is the 6.30 occasionally if its a special story, and NAT most of the time...

That's the way it works in most jobs. No disrespect to Mark, but those higher up the ladder tent to do less than those below them in the pecking order.
