I'm glad Emma has moved over to the new operation, I wonder if we'll see Haig Gordon and Sharon Thomas later this week?

It looks like they're going to use various reporters for the daytime bulletins - it's Emma Walden today

I think if Paul Greene has been told to leave then they better get a regular daytime presenter or I'll protest outside the ITN Studios to bring him back. I still can't see why they got rid of him, he was a perfect presenter, and the only problem I ever had with him was that I couldn't hear him very well with the volume on very low when I watched his early bulletins, but that's hardly a complaint and Rachel McTavish should be presenting live on the ITV News Channel at 6am instead.
With the old London Tonight I always felt what on earth are they going to fill the show with, now I feel how are they going to have time for it all? It's the first night, yeah, but in my opinion Stephen Bayley's bit, Ms Dynamite and part of the YouGov poll were completely unnecessary, replace them with a bit more real London news and Sport (With Jonathan Gould!) then the programme really will have improved, cause I like the new studio.

As a viewer for the ITV London region I feel totally cheated by London Tonight. I watched the "Relaunch " on Monday but now feel even more rejected by ITN. Foget local news if you live outside teh M25 and from what I saw on Monday Forget Local news if you live outside the Congestion Zone. Infact "Congestion Tonight may be a more apt title for the new look London Tonight.
I have never been a fan of the programme as they have always had a real attitude problem. An Arrogance towards the rural parts of ther region. You only have to look at a franchise map to see there are many rural parts of the London franchise map. But If you live in deepest Surrey, Hertsfordshire or Buckinghamshire forget local news on ITV LONDON.nAFF ALL TONIGHT IS MORE THE NAME. They have never filled the void of Thames News who DID know how to make a local News programme. They at least had regional news offices in Watford Guildford and towards the end of their franchise Dartford. I can't remember a story on London Tonight that was outside the Capital.
Please New Editor of London Tonight- Dont forget us viewers outside of the M25 Its a disgrace that London Tonight has done so far.
I have never been a fan of the programme but prior to March 1st 2004 it did at least have two major assets. They being Presenter Anna Maria Ashe and reporter Christopher Peacock. Both sadly now gone from the new London Tonight.
I sadly don't hold out much hope for us the other viewers of ITV London region ever getting a proper regional news service from London Tonight
All we can do is watch this space.!!!!!.

From seeing the clip on The TV Room and from the late update last night, I can say that I am appaualed with the new look. The studio and all of the other crap doesn't bother me its looks nice to be honest. But coming from ITN you would expect something better, from the headlines it didn't look like it was telling the News, like BBC LONDON was. If it is going to be like that everynight, they might as well rename it Consumer Affairs in London Tonight or Entertainment London Tonight, as it is doing something far different than the service which LNN used to provide. You could say fair enough if they were items later on in the programme, but the headlines and top story though, it looks crap. From the clip on The TV Room, it looks too different and too silly compared to other ITV regions.
For most of the viewers, first impressions last forever and it wouldn't suprise me if more people have switched off. I know LDN changing to LONDON looks bad, but it still delievers it's key objective of bringing the news.

NBC, I don't know whether you have Sky Digital, but if you live outside the M25 in "deepest Surrey, Hertfordshire or Buckinghamshire" you often get better news coverage from neighbouring regions like Meridian or Anglia!
These regions overlap considerably with the London region and seem to cover more stories from the overlap areas.

Yes I do have Sky and yes I do agree. However my point being is that London Tonight is far from covering its area properly. You can't tell me that outside the M25 news doesn't happen. If the other regions can cover many aspects of their Franchise area RURAL or NOT, then why can't London Tonight. I wonder what OFCOM may say??
Thanks for Sky digital because we can see just how good regional news can be.!!!!
Perhaps London Tonights relaunched failing may be just the kick that BBC london has needed.
Come on BBC why not report the news that others don't seem to care about.

I live in Surrey but I've never had a problem with the stories that London Tonight reported. I find London news far more interesting than news from Surrey as London is where everthing happens, and it's only crime stories and accidents where Surrey needs reporting from and it does get reported from.
I think that this weeks entertainment stories have been the really unnecessary ones, I'm hoping it's just to get Tamzin Sylvester known, because I have to say I really hate Ms Dynamite and am fed up of seeing her on London news. She's good for absolutely nothing and she's so boring. Hopefully a serious news agenda is coming, a new relaunch takes time to settle in.
I didn't know Christopher Peacock had gone, and he was a very good reporter, but I always found he was reporting on the most miserable and tragic stories which usually involved a death so whenever I saw him I never felt very happy but that was never his fault and he was a good reporter.
