It appears Chrissie Reidy has left London Tonight.

Didn't she sort of leave for a while last year and filed a few reports for somewhere like BBC South East News and then come back? Robin has seemed to be the main weather presenter for quite a long time. I haven't actually seen Chrissie Reidy in ages.

Where did you get this info from?

Oh yeah

Plus just had a look on Wikipedia Rolling Eyes and i was right she was/is on" BBC's South East Today from 2010. She reports on a wide range of news stories across Kent and Sussex"

I thought Chrissie had been freelance for a while? In any case, they've also used Lara Lewington who's also freelanced on South East Today too.

Last night's LT was noteworthy for its use of the Millbank studio where the regional politics programmes are made. Ben was at Millbank and Nina in the studio at GIR.

I'm slightly confused to whether or not Ben is actually permanent male anchor of London Tonight. On the website ITV.com/London there is only a picture of Nina on the background and on the ITV.com/Local page it has got Nina and Robin on the London tab. On London Tonight's facebook page it has got "Welcome to London Tonight with Nina Hossain on Facebook. " and on the Info tab it has again only got Nina Hossain down presenting.

Hehe, sadly, it's nothing exciting. Just don't read too much into Ben Scotchbrook being removed from the website, leaving only Nina Hossain. What's the logical conclusion from that...?

one anchor? Was this week with Charlene in the studio and Ben on location ( although only for a short bit per programme) mabye a bit of a trial ?

I was going to say the other day. One anchor for the main bulletin works better than I thought it would for the full 30 min bulletin. Although i wouldn't like it all the time! Plus Charlene had impressed me a lot this week! I was never much of a fan, but I think she's proved herself quite a bit this week.

Edit : just saw the topic title - seems I was right? Since when was this decided?? Strange thee'd just do it for London. Seems there wont be any more banter between the co anchors - which makes a regional news show IMO.

From facebook "Nina Hossain will be the sole presenter of London Tonight from Monday 1st November."

If that is true (which I don't doubt) then hopefully Ben will be their Friday presenter, and him and Charlene will be the relief presenters. With Donal gone and Lucy going, it would make more sense if they were looking to cut down on positions.

It is true and like you say I don't actually blame them for the decision. Since Alastair's move to the national news in September 09 things haven't been the same since then. Axing Matt IMO was the worst decision they could of made. What with Donal coming and going and Katie leaving too London Tonight has been quite unsettled.
Having Robin presenting the programme is a nice change but I do not believe practical seeing that they are one weather presenter down. I would also imagine that they would not want to be reliant on Charlene to cover Lucy's role due to her commitments to the ITV News at 5.30 and Daybreak London bulletins seeing that they are two presenters down as Faye Barker and Alexandra Hill are on maternity leave.
