Geriant vincent has good chemistry with Nina on screen so perhaps he could do it .
Andrew Castle will be finshing with GMTV soon maybe he might get the nod.
Chris Rogers , Matt Barbet, Matt Teale , Ben Scotchbrook , Ian Payne (ex sky sports) , Angus Scott, Matt Smith some other options.
And with itv keen to stretch Adrian and Christine maybe they could stretch to doing that as well

Which Chris Rogers would that be? I doubt Matt Barbet would leave Five for London Tonight, I doubt they'd ask Matt Teale back permanently, I imagine Matt Smith is quite happy with Sky and Doctor Who. Also I doubt they'll give it to Ben - either Ben hasn't wanted it or they don't feel him suitable, otherwise you'd have thought they'd give it to him when Alistair/ Matt left.

If they want a female presenter to replace him, they could do worse than Anna Marie Ashe or Katie Ledger.
If they want a male presenter to replace him, they could do worse than James Dagwell or Katie Ledger.

It could be likely that they promote Ben, they might as well do it!
Geraint would be an excellent choice, him and Nina work well together, some of these choices that people are bringing up are long shots if you ask me
And who knows, a return for Matt Teale?

Ben Scotchbrook for me too, he's a solid presenter. If in the rare chance they decide to go for a female duo, Emma Crosby.

Don't see a female duo .

For once I agree with you, it does seem unlikely. Might liven the programme up a bit though - they could do with a pair who share true banter and chemistry.

I don't know why the bosses have such a downer on Ben Scotchbrook. He's a very good anchor with an actual personality, who's much better than any of the presenters on BBC London.

So i bet joeky9 will be saying that he was still suited to the role, even though his left after less than 6 months in the job!
I'm not sure that ITN didn't want Ben to become lead anchor - I think around the same time Donal was announced as the new anchor I remember reading that Ben had just become a new Dad - so maybe that had something to do with it?
Also the Guardian article says "He will continue to work with the programme's producer, ITN, on a freelance basis as a journalist and presenter" which is what I was saying yesterday and a few others have said before , that he'd be better with a role like that - do occasional special investiagtion and undercover reports for ITV News/Tonight which his obviulsy good at!

And thats what he should have been doing when employed!
Ben is the right man for the job, the majority of London news watchers whether they are predominately prone to watching BBC or ITV know who Ben is!
However I would be pleased if Matt returned or if they had a Ben/Geraint thing going on.
You say Ben had just become a dad, is that why Donal has presented the late bulletin then?
