I thought LT may be live from somewhere tonight for the Anniversary of 7/7 - Hyde Park it seems - Memorial.

It shouldn't have been up to Donal to say its been a pleasure to work with Katie, he has only been there 5 minutes! He is a disastor of a presenter!

What was ITV/ITN thinking of hiring him. London Tonight was slick when ITN first took over, despite it not being as good as LNN's effort. It doesn't help with a disastorous colour set, an even worse the set itself has been in place since early 2004! How much longer are they planning on keeping it?!

God only knows what it would have been like now if LNN still produced the programme.

The programme looks like it's done on the cheap. It was much better when it first started.

I am loving watching Charlene present, a far better choice than Lucy and her professional manor and interactivity with her fellow presenter is great. She makes the programme enjoyable to watch.

Ben Scotchbrook writes in today's LT email:

"So, I was on duty reading the late last night - sitting there in the studio, gathering my thoughts you know, practising reading out loud - when the music starts, I look up and.... the 'autocue' says nothing more than 'autocue' on it. It's what Sir Alex Ferguson might call 'squeaky bum time'. Anyway, I don't want to make a drama out of a crisis - we got through the first lead in, reading from the scripts and the presenter's friend was up and running after that. But I've just been told this afternoon that a new chap was operating the kit downstairs in the News at Ten studio and when News at Ten finished, he, er... just switched the whole thing off. Two things strike me ahead of this evening's programme - I must double check I've got my paper scripts with me and hope he's got the evening off."

Hardly interesting "I was like" "hahaha" "hahaha" "rat", not like it's anything hilarious.

Just wondering what people thought of the new close-up shots being used since Tuesday. Tonight Nina wanted to carry on talking to Donal about an item on Big Ben and it seemed a bit disjointed as there was a close-up of Donal.

I noticed that too - seem to be doing it on the few "in other news" stories. It works on the national news, but when their sat on the same sofa and the show is generally more laid back, it doesn't seeem to work - like tonight showed.
