ITV London Tonight

I seem to be in the minority but I think Nina is a good host for London Tonight. Donal has gotten better but he is just so out of place. In fact it all seems a little tacky with that studio set as well. I much preferred it when they had a real London skyline behind them.

So next week is Katie Dehrams last week of presenting news bulletins for ITN. It will be a sad occasion for us in London as for me it seems like the London Tonight team I have known for many years is being changed into a team I don't. Next week it's the Donal and Nina show, something I am as excited for as I am dreading. I hope Nina will not be the wooden person that doesn't acknowledge her colleagues and makes the programmes very dull as she doesn't react with her co-anchor. I do hope that she will be the bright and sunny person, who seemed warm when she presented GMTV. She is a good newsreader and I do not doubt her journalistic skills whatsoever I just wish that she will gell well with Donal now that she rules the roost at London Tonight.
For Katie's last LT it would be a slap in the face if Donal presented her last London Bulletin, I would hope that they gave Ben the pleasure of presenting her last bulletin. Katie is also scheduled for the News at 1.30 but not for NaT but who knows EPG guides can be wrong sometimes. Maybe a few words from Alastair at the end of the LN. And she is also I belive doing the budget coverage on Wednesday. I wish Katie all the best and have enjoyed watching her present the bulletins for the last few years. She is a gem and will be missed by everyone, I cant ever remember anyone in this forum saying a bad word about her, its been pleasure to watch her present London Tonight for the past 6 years and of course the national news for longer.

Remember her dress sense on a high profile bulletin once? She got quite a bit of stick for it on here. It was the Sci Fi suit.

Theres a quote on a forum somewhere stating she had a suit looking like she was an officer from the Death Star.

Well ive only been part of this forum for less than two years so Im not sure I would know anything about that incident.

I was watching Meridian weather and turned over to see Katie with Matt, hopefully she will be presenting the EN tomorrow

It was rather low-key, but I think she is presenting both the News at 1:30 and the News at 6:30 tomorrow - perhaps there will be more of an 'official' goodbye from whoever is her co-presenter at 6:30? I half expected London Tonight to show at least a tiny bit of footage from her days as one of the faces of the ITN weekend news in the late 1990s.

I know as I thought I was tomorrow it cam out of nowhere!

well I think it was after the weather and I thought donal was going to do the fluffy type reports they do at the end, but he just said along the lines of " It's Katie's last day, it's been a pleasure to work with her."

Alos is it just me, but has the title for this thread changed! lol!
