I got the impression Roger thought this was new, so thought I'd try to clear it up.

Yes, I did think that was new (I seldom watch ITV News on a Sunday), my apologise. I seem to have unwittingly opened a can of worms

Is it just me who thinks it's a pretty cool location being in a POD on the London Eye?! Anyone know what the technical set up is?

Agreed, although a little bit in awe of Boris I thought. Still, it's only his first day.

The real test is when he presents a normal bulletin padded out with showbiz.

i think it's pretty cool too! like i said yesterday, better than being at Number 10 like everyone else!

not too bad for his first day - especially with it being on the London Eye. Like Matt it'll take a little why to get use to him.

Yes, I thought it worked brilliantly.

I remember Katie interviewing people in one of the pods during the 2005 election night programme.

Donal's presenting the late bulletin - wonder whether that's going to be a regular thing

Intrigued to see Nina has a profile on itv.com/london - I must have missed that before - and that she is now "firmly in position as Girl Friday on the London Tonight sofa, and gone back to her teenage years with a new 'Saturday Job' on ITV News". Kind of nice to see that, after so long without Katie (and then Alistair at points) off the bulletin, they seem to be trying to add seniority to London Tonight!

I thought it was cool, and quite different as well.
I laughed after when I switched over to check BBC London local news and they were just on some random balcony with a view of the London Eye Laughing

So with Matt gone from ITV London, does that mean he won't ever present the national news either?

I always liked him, and liked it when he presented the short bulletins and weekend news, but am worried ITV have axed him fully!!

Not sure why they axed him, I liked him. Not that I watch London Tonight often as I live in Cumbria, but I would sometimes put it on and never had a problem with him.
