London Tonight of air - got the end of Merdian Tonight

Fire alarm went off at ITN

Really? Evening News came on pronto?

The news reader was Live on location in Haiti, so maybe the studio is waiting for the all clear?

Mary was sitting in the studio. Only Non programme staff evacuated the building according to a tweet on Twitter.

We're all back in again now, but huge extractor fans in the central atrium still roaring. Panic over. (@ itvnewsinsider)

There's an interesting article here by Patrick Muirhead who used to work on London Tonight and Channel Report. Another one here by the same bloke commenting on his times at (and reasons for leaving) Channel.

It must be 10 years since I last saw Fred Dinenage, and barring further fire alarms it'll probably be another 10 before I see him again Wink.

Interesting to see that, presumably in the London region only, they bothered to display a London Tonight graphic between Meridian's weather and returning to the Meridian studio.

Firstly, apologies for the rather abrubt end to last night's programme. One minute we were hearing from Lucy Cotter at the O2 about the BRIT nominations, the next we were off air without so much as a 'goodbye from us'! No, we weren't all off down the bookies to place bets on Lucy's BRITs tips, but there was a minor drama with a fire alarm. Katie and I were, of course, prepared to keep broadcasting until the bitter end, but we were told to join the orderly queue marching to the assembly point outside. So, apologies for that, but I understand you were left in the capable hands of Fred Dineage [sic] and the 'Meridian Tonight' team? I also understand that Fred signed off by thanking viewers in London and urging you to stay with them as theirs is 'a much better programme anyway'. He's a real card, Fred...no really, hilarious! if they're going to actively plug itv.com/london on the late bulletin as the place to watch the full 30 minute programme, they could at least make sure they've uploaded the current day's programme.

It's very hit-and-miss whether they bother to put the programme up at all.

I've noticed in the last week , there've started to replug tthe new site, even though it had been up for weeks beforehand.

I'm suprised they haven't put it under the "London Tonight " bit on screen - like they did with itvlocal.com/london.

They don't put the main program up at the moment do they? Last I checked, they'd uploaded a promo on 22/12/09 on hadn't bothered since.

They do:
http://www.itv.com/london/fullprogramme/

The landing page usually features a report but there's a link to the latest full programme towards the bottom of the page on the right.

If they don't upload the programme it defaults to the promotion from 22/12/09.
