Per ITV, the West Country region covers 1.7 million people, the London region 10 million.

Also, you didn't include the ITV West region. So The West Country Tonight covers 3.8 million viewers, but still, it's probably (now) the biggest region.

It's based on the amount of people it serves, not how large the land mass is, besides
Quote:
ITV Central covers 25% of the landmass of England, stretching from the Welsh Borders to the Wash, the Peak District through to the Home Counties. It is home to 9.4 million people, 16% of the UK population and covers all or part of four government regions. It is the UK's largest commercial centre outside of London with over 370,000 companies.

I think that statement is old now as it is including the former Central South patch I would imagine. As which home counties now does Central serve?

I imagine your right and Central covers less than 25% of England now that a lot of Central South is part of Westcountry and Meridian. Central and London together tho still cover a huge area population wise but id imagine Westcountry is one of the biggest in terms of geographical area.

What happened to the end of London Tonight? It went to Meridian. Fred signed off with - Have a very good evening, and to those who were watching London Tonight and have joined us by accident - do stay with us, we're a much better programme.

Very odd.

Well, Meridian haven't got tonight's show on their site, and neither have London, wonder how that will pan out, will they show they breakdown slide and so on. Also, Meridian put Meridian Tonight on their online news, which went out at 8:56am on the web.

The news reader was Live on location in Haiti, so maybe the studio is waiting for the all clear?
