That's a surprise as I wouldn't expect Katie to present London Tonight every day, (she'll be presenting the Evening News twice next week for example). Presumably that means we'll see more of Lucy Cotter.

If that's true then that's a great shame. Alastair and Alex were a great partnership, and therefore to lose both from the programme will be a blow to the programme. I'm exicted about the new guy and will give him a fair shot, Ben's fine as a stand in, and Katie's great, however Lucy Cotter as a stand in (and to be honest, even as a reporter) is cringeworthy television. It's like watching your baby sister on the TV because she's won a day in the studio thanks to a competition she entered on the back of her Coco Pops packet. She's clearly a lovely girl, but she's too light even for a local news programme.

Yes it was. They did the same when Alex joined. No mention from Alistair. When Salma Siraj joined the team Alistair did mention her.

I absolutely hated him!! – He sounded as though he was on helium!! I’ve never like Ben as much as Alastair – but Ben’s 100x better than Matt!!
It’s a shame to here about Alex – I have grown to like her. Surely she should be there instead of Lucy as a back up presenter! (Or maybe Alex's been made the new News at Ten presenter

It would be good if Alex and Alistair left on the same day. Maybe Katie and Ben will come on and say goodvbye to the pair

I always enjoyed Matt Teale on Central, he was a good sports presenter I think. Perhaps while he was at Setanta, they gave him helium... I don't recall him particularly being high-pitched in the past, he must've have been so excited at being on ITV London
