What always makes me laugh is that wherever Alistair is presenting the female presenter beside him are always taller.

Intresting article in The Sun Newspaper today about the Lodnon Tonight sofa. Apparently there is a gapping whole in it and ITV can't afford to get it fixed. On Alex Hyndman's twitter she has got a picture of it. Click On Link To View http://twitpic.com/5mpm6

Oh and by the way sadly Chrissie Ready has left London Tonight as weather presenter and now is a reporter on BBC's South East Today. If you want to see her she is reporting on the Gurkas victory. You can watch her in her new role at http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/check/england/realmedia/southeasttoday/southeasttoday?size=16x9&bgc=C0C0C0&nbram=1&bbram=1&nbwm=1&bbwm=1 and just scroll to the right part.

Are they sure? I think DFS may have a sale on.

Surely they could just replace that sofa as isnt there now a surplus of these sets from former regional programmes?

Exactly what I was thinking. I make it that there's at least half a dozen from the defunct regions.

The main ITV News set had two of these sofas, maybe a bit larger, in 2004 and they were used until at least early last year, surely they could just drag those out of the basement?

Surely they could get one couriered from either Whiteley (Meridian), Norwich (Anglia) or Birmingham (Central) I'm sure that would be better than being as cheapskate as ITV are yet again proving themselves to be. Rolling Eyes

I'm really pleased for Chrissie. I cannot blame her for jumping off the Titanic that is ITV plc. She joined ITV as a NATIONAL weather presenter (and IMHO did a great job at it) before being relegated to just London Weather. Yeah she got some chances at reporting for Central but I think she's probably happy to be able to do what she probably wanted to in the first place. Great report and I wish Chrissie the BEST of luck at the Beeb! Very Happy

London Tonight often has its own preview for the Evening News with Mark and Mary (or whoever) perched on one of those sofas in its old position on the main set. Why they do that I've never understood.

No good getting a sofa from Whitley - they're tiny compared to the London Tonight ones.

Seems Chrissie is back on tonight - don't know whether it was on a freelance basis!
