I love it, it's brilliant, but they need to revamp the headline bed now, to make it feel more integrated.

With reference to HPC:Factor's comment about getting the full version of the 2003 countdown, is there any chance that someone with a high-speed connection could make a good-quality recording of the 88-second countdown posted on page 26?
Bail - Your remix of the N24 countdown past and present is excellent - the End Vamp that you added to it, is that an old 24 or World vamp or is it one you created yourself ?
I'm surprised at how well liked this is: I saw it tonight and thought, "Oh my God, what have they done?"
The countdown clock looks cheap; the "beams" flying around look like they've been done with Crayola as an afterthought; and including some awkward shots of correspondents harks back to the worst days of live action idents.
And here's another thought: why, at certain points do the beams fly straight past satellite dishes. And why are they just zooming past the TV centre?
Also, they bear no resemblance at all to the rest of the sequence.
And don't get me started on the music: strange in the last ten seconds and just futtered about with unnecessarily.
The only part I do like is the "splash" of red for a couple of seconds before the main headline.
But, to me, it's just all wrong! But then, I do seem to be the only person who liked the last set...

Once you have heard a 30 second countdown, the music will grow on you. We have only been hearing 10 to 15 second countdowns all day and they don't do it justice at all.
My only fear is that with these countdowns I think after a week or so, we'll all be tired of seeing nothing but reporters, reporters, reporters, all over the place. At least with the other countdowns there was a bit of variation. But we'll just have to grin and bear them now.
