Saw the new trailer with Suzanne this evening and the "I've been on sugar, again" look made an appearance; Fantastic!

Is there any more news on the proposed plans for BBC Testing of new regional TV in certain areas on the W.Midlands? I'll be quite interested to see who takes BBC Shropshire - apparently theres been a lot of in-fighting at BBC Radio Shropshire.
plans etc. are still being put in place. september is the rough launch date.

well today (thurs) is the big finale of the birmingham bird man "thing".

almost every night central have covered his latest antics - whilst i dont think bbc mids have at all Sad

it has to be one of the funniest/weirdest/most compelling thing i have seen on telly in ages. everyone seems to be talking about him/going to look at him/laughing about him. it has become compulsive viewing.

its a shame bbc mids couldnt be bothered or indeed the nationals, its not often you see something THAT surreal...

so yes, it should be interesting to see what his grand finale is ... i mean how CAN he beat flapping his arms, making a squawking noise, throwing pink feathers, standing on his nest or laying a giant egg Laughing

When Patrick was sitting there was the autocue on the camera not working, as he was looking off screen, to the right of the camera then speaking.
Thank god its only short bulletins, the man sucks the life out of anything, What them things from Harry Potter called? Well he's like one of them, boring as hell!

I thought he conducted himself a bit strangly, not really getting the point of a strike and that he was presenting the emergency service
.
Pointing out that this was a "shorter than usual Midlands Today" making it sound like it was a jolly affair due to some sports coverage or something!

Saying that "there will be more on that [the strike] later" as if it's a taster story to stay tuned!

and then saying "we will be 'back to normal' tommorow" takes the edge of the whole point of a strike really!

Is Midlands Today also having all this Duran Duran stuff? I am sick to death of it on Central News, and no doubt it will be on all weekend. They are really getting on my nerves with this at the moment.

anyone know if mike collie did bank holiday monday bulletins, as he usually does, or not given the fact he presented on friday?

Trish Adudu was in for Franksy on drivetime today.

The bit I heard was discussing about whether men prefered boxers or underpants ! Rolling Eyes

Couple of 'classic' Mollie Green 'moments' over the past couple of days.

Her references to yesterdays Virgin trains problem, 'Jumping on a Virgin' & 'Hopping on a Virgin', then her 'love' for Big Brother caused much activity on the text service! (I didn't join in then BTW!)

(Mollie isn't reading this forum, is she TVM? Bit confused by a comment she made after one of my texts! Then again it was early !)

(Come on Mollie. Don't be shy! We're all harmless, mostly, really !)

Good to see Sara Jane Mee presenting the ITV Central News tonight. Is it me or is the colour behind the screen dispearing?

Watching Central News yesterday, and the backdrop kept flicking, one second a person was walking, then he suddenly disapeared. Surely there cannot be a reason for the webcam not being live, it aint as if its isnt attached to their building, so whats the problem! If it isnt going to be live, they would be better off recording a better backdrop from somewhere else in the city and playing that.

As tvmerica said in an earlier post, there have not been many posts in this thread over the weekend. Personally, I've been much more engrossed in checking Michael Collie's website for an update after the recent:

website refurbishment

And I'm also looking forward to the:

. . . . poor Michael!
