a banter-packed midlands today this evening! nick seemed to squeeze a pun into every link with shefali struggling to complete sentences between laughing.

sad that steve clamp's leaving MT - altho he will not be off our screens for long! keep an eye out for him, wicked whispers are that he is filling a certain pair of shoes, recently vacated in a certain part of the midlands. i hope bbc mids lure back rob curling, hes a fantastic sports pres. nick clitheroe is good on radio, but he isn’t mr charisma, and the one with the excessively gelled hair isnt a patch on steve.

and nick thanked us for being there. how innovative.

ooo where is he going?

Central East seems to the the strong implication

So ironically despite presenting a programme about the East Midlands, Steve will still be working in Brum!
He'll be missed, he seemed a geniunely nice guy.
With the budget cuts I'd imagine they won't replace him and this is Dan's big moment! It's a shame Nick (who I've met) who is such a nice guy in real life always looks a bit scared on camera!

yes, one of those people who do not sit comfortably on camera, i think he needs to pop into primark for a bright pink sweater, it might bring out the real nick.

That doesn't sound like innovation to me, that's been lifted from Levy-land. I KNOW innovation when I see and hear it.

Pitty about Steve leaving. I thought he was a brilliant presenter and added a flare of personality to the sport plus he seemed the natural successor to Nick.
So perhaps he could do what Nick did and do full circle, I really do hope so!
See Midlands Today appear to have dispensed with the presenter name astons, simple introducing themselves on Friday before the headlines.
Out of interest is the new sports presenter been confirmed yet? Grease mutt seems in with a good chance of replacing him.

So if I understand this correctly..Steve is going to be replacing Kevin Ashford, rather than becoming a sport's presenter on CN East?

I might actually give CN East a go as I can't stand the programme normally. Much prefer Dominic and Anne on EMT, but Steve's good and should breathe new life into the programme, having seen him many times on MT.

It would be cool, but i do like Lucy and Marie, but Steve would give is a drastic new lease of life. i dont waatch either of the east regions as their reporting is so awful and well as for the presnting and presentation even worse!!
I always watch Nick and Suzanne and Steve, i think Nick is great, warm welcoming serious when needed and likes to have a laugh too.! Steveas well!!

Just walked past the new BBC Coventry & Warwickshire premesis, in Priory Place, Coventry. There's a grey dalek and a post- Earthshock style Cyberman in the window! Yay! Very Happy

Fantastic to see him on Central News, it has been in need of new life for ages now hopefully Steve will bring that!!
He looked a bit nervous thought b;less him!!!
Its bout time the Eastern sector got a good deal on presenters as some of them who fill in or do the late bulletins or lunchtime bulletins are absolutely cold as anything. I like to see smiling face even if the news is depressing|!

nice report on central about the strike. some rather shaky pictures of the empty midlands today newsroom from the public space - its almost as if they took them without asking permission Wink

interesting the steve keeling was chosen to do the report, mr union at central. oh and andy griffee couldnt wait to get away from the interview - wonder why holdsworth wasnt interviewed instead.
