Re the BBC strike.

What happened last time as regards the Midlands?

Would I be correct that the 'freelancers' & managers provided the service then?

(I'm sure, as regards WM, Doolan was on & I'm sure he's freelance!)

I noticed that Joanne Malin seem to have ditched her "Carlton Star" outfit. Do you think Andy Bevan could be a contender for the main sub for Bob?

Whats the Carlton Star Outfit please?

Its a red dress, and the neck is shaped in a star. It featured in the 2001 titles.

They did have a map with pulses but it wasn't as prominent as the version on Central West. Of course the Central East version still had Carlton stars and a different way of showing the presenters (customised for whoever presented the show - unlike West who always had Bob, Jo and Llew no matter what).

They were superior in some ways, but both versions of the West titles (dark and light) were far nicer in regard to visuals.

i see your friend and mine, ex-midlands today business correspondent (although that was inevitably rover correspondent) is now spokesman for land rover. he appeared on the lunchtime to do with the greenpeace protests. i guess its a bit like when phil mepham from central sport became aston villa's spokesman.
