its very INNOVATIVE. wonder why its 14:9. i thought it was just the studio cam that they wheel onto the balcony, but pushed against the canalside window Confused

It's not *that* innovative - Look North have done it for ages - back when it was from the self op broomcupboard at Woodhouse Lane and Peter Levy would cut up the camera himself.

well its an innovation in this part of the world anyway Very Happy

meanwhile mike changed his jacket to a black pin-stripe between the evening and late bulletins, i wonder why. its a shame - as he matched with what kay was wearing this morning.

According to a trail I caught this morning, BBC WM now have some sort of complain facility in the Mailbox public space.

How long before there's a comment about Gaunty or Danny Kelly left on there, & will Herr Flick take any notice of it ?

Les Ross now has competition. Malcolm Boyden now has a show on Hereford & Worcester on Sundays between 9 & 12.

I shall have to have a look next week.

(I sent a text in to Les this morning.

B***er never read it out!

Anyone know what are the 'banned' subjects on BBC Local Radio?

Conturary to popular opinion, I don't text every day/week, but there always seems to be 'favourite' callers/texters on each show, like that bloke that lives by the railway line on the Stafford route, that Les speaks to every week, & a couple from Castle Bromwich & Solihull, yet others don't seem to get a look in!

I've tried on Franksy's show, but he don't read mine either. I even sign them too!

I'm not obsessive, like some people, just expressing an opinion.)

i forgot to ask you westy - are you off to wm's mad about music today?

I didn't. (It takes longer on the bus on Sunday/Bank Holiday, as I have to get a bus to Walsall from Bloxwich, then change to a 51. During the week the 951 stops right outside my house!)

I got collared for garden work by 'sad trekkie' sister, plus we both went out on our bikes along the canal to Walsall!

Couple of technical problems on WM over past couple of days.

First, a power surge, according to Goldie(He read my text about car boot sales by the way!), knocked out the news studio mics on Monday, for the 7am bulletin at least, then today(Tuesday), programming did not start until approx 550am, due to technical problems, according to Mollie.('I wasn't late, I was here' ! Rolling Eyes ), so we got all of 'Morning Reports' & 20 mins of the business programme, before the J Geils Band 'crashed in' !

Oh & big Al Miller's back from his bad back as well !

Try here, they have moved the webcam: Mailbox Cam

Is Central's the only view of Birmingham that looks bad!

Any idea whether there will be WM studio webcams at the Mailbox, like there were at Pebble Mill ?

(Or are some presenters being (insert expletive) ?)

Tell me about it Westy! And the trains were on strike, which i didn't know until I got to Whitton - a right old trek back to bloxwich!

I thought it was engineering work, according to them Centro notices in Walsall Bus station!

(Getting into Les Ross/railway anorak mode!)

bit of a plug for bbc mid's election night coverage on tonight's midlands today. there's the usual "morning after" special midlands today at 9am. i guess goldie will be doing his breakfast show so it'll more than likely be pat presenting.

but also patrick said, and i quote "its a new departure for us, here in the midlands we will have constant screen updates throughout the night ..."

are we talking about an election version of kays system Laughing (or perhaps not) or a midlands ticker over network, or is patrick getting excited over some graphics they'll overlay during midlands opts?

also dont forget - special programme at 7 tonight

And a fab pan regional update from Central West, East and South - featuring a presenter from each (Phillipa Thomson, Gareth Owen and Wesley Smith) over on 3. LOVE the fact that Wes is up at this time of the morning - that shows devotion.

Mike & Shefali did the 630 today.

Did they use the Politics Show studio for part of the show, or am I mistaken?

Did anyone listen to the entire WM output overnight, in both Brum & Coventry?

Mollie made a reference to welcoming C&W listeners, so did one or both shows run overnight, instead going to 5 Live?
