presumably so the DOG on the retrospective sort of matched up with the 16:9 DOG?
midlands today out-did central again. suzanne anchored from longbridge with nick back in the studio. introduced with an announcement calling it a "special midlands today". nick announced the winner of the midlands today school of rock, however the drum roll came after the winner was revealed - leaving nick a bit bemused - and the winners came into the studio from the newsroom via the glass door.

Yeah promising start, went a bit wonky near the middle, recovered near the end IMO.
Highlight, as usual, Chinnie getting passionate about the situation as usual, which I have no problem with BTW.
Bit of radio news now. A chance to hear the 'School Of Rock' material on all BBC WM regional radio stations at 11pm tonight. (What's the betting there'll be some technical faux pas, as Shropshire, Stoke & H&W opt out of the Radio Nottingham Late Show, to join WM for he programme!)
BBC WM are having a special programme tomorrow at 9am about Rover as well. (Is Gaunt back then ? Let's hope he doesn't bang on about his Jag then , because it would be in bad taste IMO !)
I'm off next week, so I'll have to try to tune into Leicester to check out Tony & Julie's new shows, unless anyone's got an opinion already?
Anyone catch 'Waterworld' yesterday?
The people on the disabled adapted boat were my sister in law's parents !!

have to agree with above points and this comes from a Central News fan. I think Midlands Today was far better in their coverage of MG Rover. Having Suzanne present their looked much better than Central's efforts. It always seems that they push the boat out a bit more for the big stories.

I thought i'd put this here to stop a row over this shoudl not be a new topic but going of the topic of Midlands today i saw promotion today for BOB and Marie and a central news election special on Wednesday thsi will be interesting. Bob and mARIE WORKING TOGETHER. It's also intersting to see that theyre using the old Central News music for it pre itvisation. Should be a good programme. Its about the elections and what is means for the Midlands

a nice reminder of the old CENTRAL NEWS days there, and im glad theyre using the fab old music again.
studio looks rather nice with the hint of pink.
edit - and why does she call herself "maar-ee" pronouncing "mar" as in market, rather than "marie" as in the way normal people say it?

forgot to say earlier - interesting that central east went out on central west this morning. rajeev popat apologiesd to central west viewers, but offered no reason. in the good old daysthere were very few occasions where they would not manage to get all 3 shows to air. i remember a while back the itc were breathing down central's neck about failiure to provide subtitles during the regional news for technical reasons ... and yet, central are being allowed to routinely fail to put out all 3 subregions. i am sure i have seen it 3 times in the last few months.
oh and its a shame for central south viewers - not having wesley in on central choice. i hope they dont feel too alienated.
