Well here's some food for thought : If the MT current set is in the conservatory, when do you expect it to be moved? Anyhoot you'll find out Twisted Evil

I thought the whole idea of moving into the conservatory was so they could move the sofa and desk to the Mailbox. If that is in the conservatory, then what was the point of moving. I suppose they could be removing the rear projector from the 'window', and they could be taking the wooden floor with them to reuse, but I've got a horrible feeling that they are taking the whole of the current set with them, meaning that we'll still have a cream set, even though that form of BBC News set is now out of date.

They are taking the lighting with them...

i'd hope they'd invest in new lino, rather than going to the effort of patching together lino to fit a different shaped room.

i am intrigued about the sofa still being at the mill i must say - they're going to be doing rehearsal shows at the mailbox this week, obviously to block the cameras, lighting and get to grips with the new gallery - either they're substituting the sofa with something else, or replacing it with another?

this is BBC Midlands we're talking about Andy. Unless they are planning to be, *shudder*, "professional" in their new building.

How so?

It's not presented from the Mill anyway, but some living room in some stately home type building.

I notice that this series of POV has been giving out the Mailbox postal address. But then again, they had been giving out the old address as "POV, Birmingham, B5 7QQ" for some time, thus downplaying "Pebble Mill" by not specifically mentioning it by name.

Is the floor lino then? I always thought that it was proper laminate flooring. I could swear that I saw it going down in planks when they did the timelapse of the set change back in 2000.

I've seen lino' strips that look like laminate flooring planks, I used some on the kickboards of my old kitchen units a few years ago. There's also some sort of wood effect lino' ( I assume) on the lower-ground floor of the Pavillion Central shopping centre.

Is there any chance that they may have purchased a new sofa or desk, or both for their new area at the mailbox?

It's nice that they have taken the trouble to set up a CSO screen in the conservatory this time, instead of making Shefali stand in the the garden. Amazing how much better the picture quality is when they are down there.

When I was at MT, the idea was (and still is) to take the whole current set down to the Mailbox, rather than buy a completely new set.

Just thought I'd share that with you.
