I was a bit surprised, bearing in mind when my mobile rang, it came up 'Private Number', which I found strange.

All calls from the BBC have the number withheld.

mmm i'm thinking central news east have gone cheap. the past few bulletins have not featured either boring Kevin, or the lovely Lucy, or even Dan Baker, instead tey have beeen using Jo Malin to do the lunchtime news. its great to see her tough represent the East as she is a very capable nd likeable presenter, but don't you think its a little unfair to those who are newer faces of cn east i.e. Dan and Lucy, since the move to Biringham?

Did anyone see our very own Sarah-Jane Mee co-presenting the Boat Race on Sunday??

Does this mean that Central still makes ITV Sport? The programme was a Granada Production...does that mean Granada Central????

Fantastic - I was watching when that went out, and I recognised those tones from somewhere in the distant past

i wonder whether the redundancies at bbc midlands will be reflected on screen. if i recall correctly midlands today are to lose 10 (partly achieved by not replacing leavers), i wonder if one of the leavers was mark foster Confused

am i the only one irritated by the tedious "water aid" reports this week, where young people go and see the *wonderful* charity work going on in africa on central. severn trent were mentioned in every other sentence ... a few days before stonking great water bills are due to land on peoples door mats ... coincidence indeed.

even more irrelevant for the half of the region who are served by south staffordshire water though.

OFF TOPIC ALERT

Charity filler was the main reason we went off regional news in our house - there would always be these filler items on Central to make you feel sorry for little Katie Cuteface who had no arms or legs or bone marrow, and therefore automatically went to Disneyland for free. A major non news item and they'd always shove it down your throat as if it meant something, and made us turn over with anger! My little sis would ask why she can't go to Disneyland for free and be on telly, and I have to say "cos you are perfect". *sobs incontrollably*.

*half serious rant over*

Anyone noted Julian Drucker has 'jumped ship' from BBC WM to Central News ?

sadly bbc midlands seem to have dropped the headline graphics with the scrolling |B|B|C|Midlands Today text. oh and steve clamps hair was a mess today, hes usually well groomed, sadly not today.

over on central during peter hayes' lengthy live chat with bob there were some protesters behind. holding up plackards - one was about some peace and love nonsense and the other was about fox hunting. one of the production team tried to move one of the blokes away, but failed.

SJM is getting around, she also interviewed Jermaine Defoe for London Today/Tonight, although I suspect it was shared with Central West?
