so could this mean we see a return of Bridget. She suddenly popped up after about 4 years off last year and it would be great to see her return.
bridget? do you mean bernadette? the rumour is about a young blonde female new starter - so that counts berne out.

Then of course they could always add to Kays duties, but on reflection that looks very unlikly considering she does the Breakfast and Lunch as a stand-in as opposed to a fixed presenter.
kay is not a stand in, she is the fixed lunchtime and breakfast presenter. nick and suzanne take it in turns to do lunch on her days off.

Furthermore, with a *new female presenter* mean Suzanne is off on her hols. Or is she moving off somewhere else?
Interesting though.......
suzanne has just had a week off, and shefali's nose would be put seriously out of joint if someone was taken on to fill in for suzanne, not to mention sarah falkland.

Sharuna thats the one. Sorry I couldn't think of that to save my life. Anyway like you said Shelfali would be seriously put out if someone new came it and took over, so is the case that this presenting aspect will relate to something like weather?

Went to the BBC Public Space at the Mailbox on Saturday. I was surpised how small it was - seems to look bigger on the TV. Good to see part of the studio and the gallery and have a go at presenting the weather! Cool

Worth a trip if you are passing...

Is Auntie Beeb the 'Neighbour from Hell' ?

According to a report in tonight's 'Evening Mail', the residents of Clydesdale Tower in Holloway Head, Birmingham(remember about a month ago, when it was reported that they could only receive East Midlands tv there, due to building work nearby !) claim their lives are being made a misery by bright lights, security lights, taxis picking up staff from the infamous car park, as mentioned by TV Mercia around 3 months ago.

According to the residents, the Beeb don't want to know !

Would these be the same residents who lob bricks from the top of the tower down onto the cars and sometimes even BBC staff?!

Just when we thought she had gone, she's back! Joanna Malin, and her hair is as "on fire" as ever!

a national ident at 7.30 before the regional programme on central .. and a brief glance at the LNN testcard.

mind you the programme it was preceding was fantastic. interesting that the midland red logo seen on most of the archive footage survived on some of their buses till the late 90s, and i can remember buying a "day rover", not sure what they changed the name to these days.

granted midland red and GWR stretched across east and west midlands, but all the interviews and footage seemed very birmingham focused, was it a split programme for east and west Confused

I had to laugh at todays Lunchtime's Midlands Today. The first two stories was suppossed to be "Live", but so obviously wasnt. Cant believe they still do this. And they say that Central's standards are bad. They should be done for portraying stories as Live, when they are not.

OB trucks and sat links are expensive, so it makes sense to save money and do as-lives on less important stories. its a trick i have seen central and virtually every other regional news employ, so i'm not sure what your point is.

i don’t think anyone claims that "central's standards are bad" ... the news agenda and banality crept in as soon as central news became part of the "itv news group". the news agenda and style of the show is set by suits in london, who obviously want to thrust the london tonight (not the LNN version, that wasn’t as inane) style upon everyone.

i do not think anyone could possibly argue that central news of the same high standard as the 0ctober 2001 relaunch. fantastic titles, music, set and a great line up of presenters, reporters and sports reporters. now bob hall, mark bolton, jon ray, robin powell, anne nankeville et al have disappeared (and llew seemingly demoted to afternoons) bob warmans face and jo malins legs are the only recognisable bits left.

i'm not sure i will continue to debate with you if youre going to be katherine-esque and defend central news to the death because you have some strange unfounded loyalty to them.

Well my point is, is that its the 2nd main programme of the day, and its the TWO TOP stories, and cannot even do a Live. Central and every other region BBC and ITV region can do it. Incredibly expensive? Its more the the reporters arnt up to the job to deliver LIVE news, and have to record it because they are soo bad. And me loyalty to Central News? so what are you, a NERD of Midlands Today, who defends them to every possible corner, and nothing can be wrong with them. You need a relaity check mate, and then we will see who has the highest loyalty. No wonder people like you follow the programme, with a low market image and piss looking presenters.

Look who's getting wound up now, just because I quoted something "bad" about Midlands Today. Think carefully in future...
