The NEW Central West and BBC Midlands thread

I've noticed a change myself on both east and west. The sports presenter and a new presenter have ben presenting lunchtime/Late bulletins in the East region.How strange, where is Dan Baker and Lucy Kite, they are my favourites at the moment they were good on CN@6 a few weeks back when Kevin and Marie were preparing for their new studio in Brum.
I would think LLewella is just having a few weeks off, who know maybe ther snows has stopped people from coming into work?
I would like to see Lisa Foden back fronting the 11am and lunchtime news she was excellent and just what CN EAST NEEDS

What seems strange about Llewella, is that since Jan, she was only appearing on the daytime bulletins, with Joanne on Central at Six 5 days a week, then now she seemed to have gone altogether. I also noticed that Sarah Jane has made a disapearing act, and presenting fewer programmes, hope she hasnt gone aswell!

yay! central south's wesley smith is presenting central west tonight. very rare - i don't think hes been on central west since that 1 week back in 2001. i wonder why he's been dragged up to birmingham to do a saturday surely he's got enough on doing weekdays at central south.

I suppose he's not going to say no to do a favour for Birmingham management. Wes would be a welcome addition of the Central West team - now the partnership of Wes and Anne is long gone, maybe he might consider moving to Birmingham to start being Bob's stand in. Trouble is...Bob rarely has time off - unless he's got an appointment with another media company.

Out of curisocity, how come Shabina Akthar (Haley) didn't return to MT, after her maternity leave?

She left WM's Late Show to get married, then reappeared, this time on MT, being billed as Shabina Akthar Haley(At this point, I'd only seen her once in vision on MT, most of the time I only heard her voicing reports on the Breakfast bulletins!), then she went on maternity leave, then around Xmas, she reappeared back on WM, reading the news & subbing for Paul Franks, being billed as Shabina Akthar again.

(I must admit catching the odd section of WM's Late Show the other week, made me smile. She was reading the news that evening, & it struck me as being strange that she was reading the news into her old show !)

In sub related news the ever ready users at the TVARK forum have discovered veteran ex-central announcer Mike Prince is producing a tea related cartoon, which is just fantastic

arati made a pot on central news tonight - presumably she'll be dancing round it, speaking in tongues (although she does that all the time anyway) and conjuring up more evil with it

nick and shefali held a mini mastermind competition tonight *live* from the bbc stoke studio instead of the old mastermind times up noise they used the headline stab that they ditched a few months ago.

The most obscure midlands places ever seen on a weathermap! I've seen Central do this recently, makes a nice change!
