Les Ross' new show on WM Sundays promoted in the 655 regional slot tonight!
Question.
How does Mollie Green, ex employee of Metro networks/Traffic Link, who give out traffic info on BBC Local Radio, find her way to Manchester ?
Answer.
Follow a plane !
As I texted her, 'You have the same sense of direction as my sister !'
Somebody said ' Why don't you buy a map !'
Was the autocue playing up tonight during MT?
It seemed a bit wobbly in one part!
the whole show was wobbly! its a fab les ross trailer, altho you would have hoped they'd dig out some radio birmingham footage - to catch the eye of his old listeners. i remember his fantastic weekend shows at brmb, they always seemed funnier than his weekday mornings. i may give him a listen if i remember/am up in time!
awwww poor kay got her words mixed up on her closing link, i think it was simon's thermal joke that caught her off guard! she ended up making no sense at all

central news covered the regional programming cuts tonight, the MD said he didnt think the viewers would miss them ... now i know he has to toe the company line - but saying "they were crappy anyway" (in not so many words) surely wasnt the best argument for the cuts
and before central news tonight there was a promo for midlander of the year (which i presume is the last ever midlander of the year?). a couple of years ago it was in birmingham, last year nottingham - now its back in birmingham ... do oxford not get a turn ??
notice they use an itv central logo in the promo - i havent seen that used on anything apartfrom the end cap. oh and theyve finally removed the carlton branding from the midlander of the year graphics.
as we know pancake day is one of the regional news highlights of the year - along with bonfire night, and erm, valentines day ... and when the christmas tree gets put up.
bbc mids crossed LIVE to mike collie in the bbc birmingham open space (just down stairs from the studio) who watched 2 chefs cook him a pancake. i was rather hoping mike would toss one, but he didnt. it brought back fond memories of his lazy christmas cook series ...

Anyone spot the caption mistake with the RSPCA report tonight?
'021' instead of '0121' !
According to last night's Evening Mail, East Midlands local news now have some viewers in the centre of Brum due to a giant crane blocking reception, despite said viewers living not too far away from Gas Street & The Mailbox!
At the moment, they cannot get a signal from Lichfield (Five), or Sutton (everyone else), so the residents of Clydesdale Tower in Holloway Head, Birmingham are getting the Nottingham(Waltham?)transmitter instead.
Wonder if they're getting DTT(probably not!), or FM local radio either.
As someone who travels a lot of the country for my job, I get the benefit of seeing lots of regional output and I have to say that the Midlands coverage is vastly superior in quality to most places.
MT is a great programme with reporters like Robin Punt and Michele PAduano. Central is also strong compared with other ITV regions...who do people rate as the best Central News reporters?
