ooh and here's a name we haven't heard for a long time Very Happy i think this is the first "bbc coventry and warwickshire" trailer in yeeeaaars. i take it the plans to resurrect the station are well underway, wasn't spring 2005 the date they gave? shame it doesnt say CWR tho Sad

In Coventry city centre, there's a new development of luxury apartments, with posh restaurants etc below. It's called Priory Place. A hideous 1960s mult-storey carpark was knocked down to make way for Priory Place.

Although most of the ground-floor stuff in Priory Place is fancy eateries, one (or several) "shop space(s)" have "BBC" boarding on them at the moment. It says "Coming... Summer 2005", and gives the web address as bbc.co.uk/coventry (Which is actually the "Where I Live" website) But when you actually get to the site, it is branded as the Coventry & Warwickshire Where I Live site.

The reason that the Where I Live URL doesn't mention Warwickshire is because bbc.co.uk/coventrywarwickshire is the radio station's (CWR/WM/whatever it's called this week) website.

(There is also a CIN special on Friday between 7 & 10 on WM too! What's the betting it's Daz Hale in charge ! Remember when local radio used to devote the entire night to CIN Not any more !)

Actually old fella, I have some news for you... straight from the Horse's mouth again Cool

My Mate at BBC Birmingham posted:

Children In Need night on WM will be presented by Danny Kelly, not Daz Hale! 7-10 with 6-7 being the football phone in presented from the open space by Paul Franks in drag!

So there you go... my mate is also directly involved with the TV presentation on the night too... although, I'd best preserve his identitiy... Cool

By the way, it's Shefali and Ashley Blake doing the TV presentation, and by all accounts BBC Birmingham are making a day of it - Nick Owen will be around at a certain point to sign copies of his book... not sure if any proceeds to CIN though...

Well I was only guessing! ( I wasn't expecting Jimmy Franks to pop up on a weekday!)

Where's Tom Manners at the moment? Is he busily supporting sister Sarah with 'Strictly Come Prancing', or is he doing other things/taking a break?

I've taped (hopefully) Mollie Green from this morning, so I'll look at that later!

Caught a bit of Franksy presenting his show tonight, & he was mentioning that he was being made up.

(This has got to beat him in his underpants at the Mill a few years back, after saying he would present the Brekky Show from PM's roof, if Man U did the treble, which they did!)

What about Goldie trying to beat his fear of heights, or Waddo shovelling s**t at the sewage works?

Doolan's kids tea party, Annie Othen in bed at Allders in Coventry!

The Toy appeal kicks off tomorrow at 1pm at Bescot Stadium with the lovely Cayte Walker in charge.

Doolan mentioned that Goldie didn't do his 'heights' challenge!

Also on Doolan, there was an hour devoted to 30 years of the Brum IRA bombings, featuring people who were working on that night, such the odd copper, taxi driver(Walsall's Mayor, Mike Bird was one!), 7 the likes of Michael Buerk, Nick Owen & 'the legend that is ' Tom Coyne, who was Doolan's 'The Other Side Of ' as well.

Watched the clip of Mollie from Friday & bearing in mind I said previously that Mollie was driving the Toy Appeal bus, & I wondered if she had plenty of room up top, I can say she certainly does(& room 'below' too !) Laughing

(Gives me an idea for my next text, assuming I'm awake early enough tomorrow morning !)

Mind you she does have her 'knockers' Rolling Eyes

Wouldn't mind this - ebay link

Bit pricey though!

I'd like a number of that guy's items - seen them before on Ebay - but it is all well overpriced considering he must churn out loads of DVD copies of those things for just a few pence, unless of course he is paying all the appropriate copywrite and royalty fees etc...

nice long midlands tai chi - theyre still using the one where the camera turns upside down, even though i havent seen it on network for aaaaages
http://www.tvmercia.co.uk/bbcmids-optout2.jpg

the programme itself was really well made - presented by david jessel, contributions from nick owen
http://www.tvmercia.co.uk/bbcmids-optout4.jpg

'odd' bbc birmingham credit there. the fact its presented by jessel perhaps means a bit of network money went into it too - for showing on bbc 2 or bbc 4 maybe Confused

Yeah. Why were they regionally going into it anyway? Sorry if I've missed the point somewhere.

Plus they mustn't have provided BBC Midlands with a copy of the News 24 titles to go into it neatly, rather than cutting, unless they just didn't use them.

You'd think that all regions would have a version of everything, local idents for BBC One/Two, and things like News 24 openings, etc just incase they're found in a position to use them.

Why use a boxless ident ?

By the way, as threatened, I sent my text into Mollie, but it wasn't read out, along with a few others, as it was a bit near the knuckle!

(She'd been getting stick ever since !)

We wouldn't have dreamed doing this to Julie Mayer !

Big story in Coventry today. (The Jaguar march)

Where was Gaunty? (The asshole ! Was he sick ?)

I thought he would've been in the thick of it, seeing he owns one!

Waddo was presenting instead, & good news, Julie returns to the 'Late Show' on Monday, after her recent operation !
