One thing I have noticed on Central News is that the backdrop could look so much cooler in the dark if the Hyatt Hotel had some lighthing on its building - as it stands all you can see is a big black shadow.... the backdrop looked nicer in the summer I reckon!

Midlands Today's headlines sounded *loads better* with the "meeps" from BBC London instead of just the boring National "boom booms".... also I don't reckon this is going to go down very well here but how fake is Suzanne Virdee's laugh - she is soo wooden as is the 2nd sports presenter, God knows what his name is. Bob and Llewella any day of the week for me, although they desperately need a full time sports presenter!

I was thinking the same the other night, particularly as it's covering most of the Birmingham Wheel. The Hyatt's windows are very dark so even if there are lights on in the rooms it may not be enough to break down the big black "shadow" behind Bob. The Hyatt ought to go and put a few lights on in some empty rooms - or see the opportunity to put a huge illuminated sign on that side of the building! Does it imply they have no guests staying?

I don't think the Central building can be seen from the BBC windows, I think Bobby Browns club and the flats on Holliday / Gas St get in the way. The new development on Holliday Wharf will almost certainly block the view in that direction I think.

It's ironic really how Central News has Alpha Tower in the background -part of the old ATV / Central complex.

I was also thinking the same last week

I was thinking more of a big massive light pointing at it to illuminate it.
It is rather odd having that against the brightly coloured wheel, you'd think they'd go to some effort.

Anybody thinking of buying anything at the Pebble Mill auction?

It's just a load of office desks and chairs really. Although there is one lot which is described as 'Studio Desk'. Could this be an old Midlands Today desk? Not that I'd have anywhere to store such an item.

So nobody's going just to say that they were one of the last people to be in Pebble Mill before it was demolished?
