The Aston Villa situation has caused a lot of calls to radio phone ins, & Ian Winter did a live insert from the BBC WM studios downstairs tonight, so there was a brief simulcast on both BBC One & BBC WM, with Ian having a few words with WM's Sports Editor Mark Regan, who was presenting the phone in(Normally Franksy presents the phone in, so I'm suspecting Rego was covering Drivetime too, but I could be wrong!).
(Also a brief appearance by Brett 'BBC WM Introducing' Birks, who was tech opping/phone answering as well)
As for the main show, it was Nick with Jackie Kabler.
A quick reminder that there is a special 'Inside Out' on the drought tomorrow at 730pm, with Mary Rhodes presenting.
(There are similar opt outs across all BBC One English Regions at the same time, plus in Northern Ireland according to SKY EPG, but not Scotland & Wales!)
Other news : Richard Wilford is looking after BBC WM's Breakfast Show until June, when Pete Morgan takes over.
Anyone know about a failure to opt out at some point during today's 'Breakfast'? I know the 625 & 655 went out, then I went to work, but someone has mentioned on Facebook?
Not in the same league as Suzanne Virdee, but a bit sad all the same, as Ive checked with Wm via Facebook, because I hadnt heard her on air for ages, but Wm's Cayte Walker has left the Beeb too!
Do BBC local radio newsreaders tend to appear on different stations, depending on shifts?
The reason I ask is, Im currently listening to Radio Leicester & Rebecca Dixon has done a bulletin, but Im sure Ive heard her on Wm recently too?
