Just watched Late Kick Off off the Sky Plus.

No Manish Bashin this week, the show being presented by one Stanley Victor Collymore(Must have been desparate. Why couldn't they have got Nick Owen to deputise instead?).

(Debates whether to make a comment about Collymore & 'car parking' !)

Going back to Signal 107, have they increased the power on the Kiddy & Telford transmitters, as I could not pick up a signal before, north of Walsall, but now I can get a reasonable signal on both 107.2 & 107.4 fm.
Ive got the same with Bbc Stoke, so could it be lift?

Interesting to see Des Coleman back at local BBC level, doing a report on Inside Out West Mids about David Lowe, the BBC News music composer.

Can't find the official BBC Press Office web page since they changed it, so I'll have to quote someone called 'Harris Tweed' on DS, who seems to have found the statement mentioned in this link.

Must admit, if this is correct, I know Phil gets some stick (including off me initially, but since I met him literally around the corner from my house, after directions to Walsall Bus Depot I have changed my opinion!) from various quarters, but I suppose I'll miss him.

Wonder who'll get the gig, bearing in mind there could be reductions in broadcasting hours eventually? (Has anything come of that by the way?)

Looking at the 'other other place', Dicky Wilford has been mentioned, which would be a good choice. Goldie & Franksy would be good choices, but as mentioned there, Goldie has recently moved slots & Franksy is too heavily involved in the sports coverage.

Even Mollie was mentioned 'elsewhere', but was dismissed as being 'too light'! (I must admit her new found 'intelligence' surprised me. The one Saturday morning she even interviewed Jack Dromey MP(Mr Harriet Harman to us!) about something in the news & there has been other examples which don't spring to mind admittedly! By the way, Mol's former Early Show sidekick, Jane France has left BBC Birmingham!)

Mol is a good presenter in her own little way, but the only thing that annoys me is unless you're part of her 'little club' you tend to get short shrift if you text in. For example, last week, she mentioned Goldie as now being on the station 6 days a week, to which I texted in 'It's 7 days a week, if you count 5live. Does the guy get any sleep?'

'Keeping tabs aren't you?', she replied.

No dear, it's a fact. Any bloody idiot could work that one out!

Asked MT on their Facebook, & they said Breakfast weather doesnt come from their studio!

Too right, it gets piped up with just a solid blue background from the Weather Centre in London, over server whereupon MT Key the Weatherscape maps they make behind her (with her region) meaning she can do EVERY region if need be - much like Fred Talbot at Granada doing Central Daybreak Weather.

OR they use the DTL Scotchlite round the corner from the Studios and key it there - one or the other!

People on DS reckon the Upton replacement is Pete Morgan from BBC Radio Stoke.

If this is true, is he any good?
