Anyone remember 'Ian Wood's Sunday Night Party' from a few years back? (Broadcast on Stoke, Shropshire & Hereford & Worcester)

Well Ian's reappeared, after a few years hiding somewhere off air, reading the afternoon news bulletins on WM today.

Ian's been reading the news on Radio Oxford for some time as a freelancer. I think he's worked in Southampton too, as well as Brum. These freelancers get everywhere you know...

Midlands Today are slowly creeping more animation into their astons and other OSG, could this mean Viz? or someone who knows what they're doing with BigTED... (the latter I presume!)

Hmm Will have to look at Emma's forum, to see if there's any comment! EDIT - Not at the moment!

In the meantime, anyone remember this chap from various cover slots, including his 'syndicated chat show across BBC LR ?

Is Shefali back today, seeing West Midlands based BBCTV forecasters (Ben Rich) were back doing the weekend forecasts rather than the East Mids lot?

EDIT : Shefali's back, but 'Lenny from Eastenders' did the forecast! He's a bit animated, isn't he?

Anyone see former Central News East/Central Weekend presenter Anna Soubry on PMQ's this week.

She's now the MP for Broxtowe(whereever that is?).

(And a Tory as well! She's gone down in my estimation, along with Seb Coe & Kirstie Allsop!)

I know this is from Digital Spy but it looks like the BBC Radio East Midlands regional shows are changing from the New Year.

A new regional early evening show will take the place of the various local specialist shows currently in that slot, between 7 & 10pm(I assume the footy shows will still broadcast as & when?) followed by the Late Show.

Something to keep an eye on.

(I guess there won't be much change on the Shropshire/Stoke/H&W side other than their early evening shows extending to 10pm!)

Having a quick look at the Shropshire schedule for 4/1/2011, it appears that there is a local show running 7 till 9 then taking the last hour of the new East Midlands early evening show before the Late Show.

Why don't they extend from 9pm to 10pm, as it seems daft just taking an hour of a show?

(The same thing happens currently after the Nottingham Late Show / WM's late evening show at midnight, where they take the final hour of the 5 Live 10 till 1 show then the Up All Night show !)

The Broxtowe Estate is in the north of Nottingham: However the Borough of Broxtowe, to which Anna Soubry's consistuency is equal (less Eastwood and Brinsley), is to the west of the city. It encompasses the towns of Beeston and Stapleford. Broxtowe was a former hundred in Nottinghamshire.

You'll sleep easy tonight knowing that Wink
