Hmm how come 'Ginner' is still producing the WM Afternoon Show this week?

He must have got some sort of bollocking from management surely?

EARLY WARNING for tomorrow, Mollie is spending half an hour discussing hens & chickens.

(Dunno whether to Laughing or Rolling Eyes )

My work colleagues flicked her on & one of them said to me, 'Is she mental?'

Needless to say the radio got tuned back to GOLD later.

(Must admit I like that Absolute 80's on DAB !)

I haven't heard what was said, but according to reports

Quote:
Almost instantly his producer Mark "Ginner" Newman butted in, telling him: "You can't say that."

Assuming the reports are close to accurate, it sounds like Newman handled the aftermath of the situation (which he couldn't have prevented) well. While I'm sure there would have been a debrief about what happenned, I can't see any grounds for him to be caught up in the scandal.

As I say, I'm going on the reports...

I might be missing something here, but why have a LIVE from the newsroom when you can see the actual studio in the background?

News editors like to do that for some bizarre reason, I can see the point when the newsroom is in a different part of the building but not for newsroom studios. London used to do it but their newsroom/studio was so small you could see the reporter and crew in the background of the set de-rigging afterwards.

Midlands Today with new titles, seen at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAxmT4lWlb8, and the company behind it has designed graphics before, according to their site and showreel. Will this be the first region to almost completely break the mold?

EDIT: Looking at the Youtube, there are various mocks for BBC News which would never make air, so it may be right to ignore me.

Yes, I assume you read the description:
This was a personal project to create an opening title sequence design for BBC Midlands Today. Designed and created in After Effects, music edited in Adobe Audition. Took about 2.5 hours to create, and 15 minutes to render.

Looks like he's a tech op from BBC Midlands Today who's touting for a bit of graphic design work on the side

Caught some of Mollie today. Apparantly Danny is back WEDNESDAY not TUESDAY!

Interesting.

Wonder if the 'Danswerphone' will continue, albeit with heavy editing?

You can forsee some of the comments being left on there, along the lines of 'Now who's the halfwit?', 'Muppet' & bearing in mind on Monday, Danny was asking for impressions to be left on there, what are the chances on various 'Royals' making an appearance on there?

Nick was on his own tonight on MT. Sound problems during the Birmingham Pride report.

When aren't there sound problems on MT?! Must be one of the worst BBC regions out there.. unlike the glorious Points West.

Interesting to note for the second week running, the Politics Show regionally(I assume all regions did this?) linked to networked closing credits directly, this week a short clip featuring David Laws.

What happened to going back to London, then closing the show?

Joan Cummins on location in Warwickshire with the gypsies by the way.

(Is it me or are her clothes a bit tight? I know she's big anyway, or perhaps because they've all been in heavy winter coats until recently?)

Was she at Meriden? Everyone in my school keep wittering on about them like they've done something like murder. They didn't have a problem when Spellman allowed the construction of 15 luxury houses on green belt.

Think she was. (Meriden is Spellman's patch isn't it?)
