Slightly off topic, but I spotted BRMB at Merry Hell today, giving out pink related things!

Not that it matters thesedays, but isn't Merry Hell technically Beacon territory?

That'd be the BRMB Thunders.

Ok where does BRMB end & Beacon begin then?

There must be a boundary somewhere?

Wolverhampton is obviously Beacon territory, Birmingham is BRMB territory.

What about inbetween ? Dudley, West Bromwich, Walsall?

It's a bit like the Albion being occasionally classed as a Birmingham team, whereas most people would class them as a Black Country team!

(It's a shame Gold can't come out to play occasionally IMHO, as it's practically a National station? I only know them going out for these 'Weekender' things at a holiday camp nowhere near you!)

As noted in another thread, The Six opted out for longer than normal at 615 tonight, to cover the reccession news where you are.

Midlands Today's contribution (plus the majority of the main bulletin) came from the home of Cadbury, Bournville in Brum, as tonight's debate about the Cadbury's situation was being taped for future transmission on BBC WM.

In fact Flupton did make an appearance briefly on MT to promote the debate.

Apart from a reference on tonight's 1025, clips from the debate will be aired over the next couple of days on WM, with a full hour's worth on Friday morning between 9 & 10.

(Those of you who know what I do for a living(or have a idea what I do!), I do speak to people at Cadburys (in connection with my work!) & I've flagged to them about what WM are doing & will be pointing them to the Iplayer if they want to listen, as they live outside the transmission area!)

Who else noticed the rather odd looking wall on the MT set yesterday and today?

To the left of the rear projection screen there is a large red block, I think I may have identified what it is but I need official confirmation before I actually say it on here.

EDIT: Okay, David Gregory says it is part of the Late Kick-Off set, which I thought it might have been.

Anyone notice the Central News theme (East although I think it was used for West as well) from about 1999-2000 on You've Been Framed just then?!

I noticed that too. It was used in the East only.

Went by Pebble Mill today, 5 years on and there is still a bit standing and some BBC Birmingham signage left.

Been flicking through BCC's planning site, ITV Central got a new 2.7m dish on their roof.

The Cadbury debate with Flupton can be found in the final hour of Friday's WM Breakfast Show.

Anyone following the BBC WM thread on Digital Spy's Radio Forum?

They really love Joanne Malin don't they (not!)

Someone's threw in a comment about Mollie, which made me Laughing

I must admit I thought the main reason Mollie & Daz were swopped round was budget as Mollie only did The Early Show. She, to my knowledge, never stuck around for anything else on air, eg Cayte Walker, when she did it, went onto Travel, as did Julie Mayer & Danny Scouser, along with Julie, in later years, was the show's regular roving reporter.

With Mollie only doing the Early Show, Beech had to get another person in (Richard Wilford) to handle the Sport & be the regular stand in presenter when either Goldie or Flupton were off, again getting someone in to stand in for Richard on Sport.

Now with Daz doing the Early Show & the Sport & only occasionally having to get another person in to read the Sport(Terry Goodwin?), I suspect it's slightly cheaper, unless anyone wants to disagree?

(Then again, it would interesting to find out how much out of the budget is spent on hiring 'names' like Jo Malin, Janice Long & Bev Bevan, 2 of which are known nationally & all three having TV experience over the years, if you count performing on TOTP as part of The Move & ELO experience?. Does TV experience 'push up' your going rate?)

Anyone listening to Jo Malin?(I've got the day off, then again currently at work I can have the radio on!)

The show is one year old. (Digital Spy posters are surprised it managed that!)

I'm slowly losing the will to live.

She wasn't this bad on the telly was she?

Anyone watched 'Inside Out' tonight?

If so, did you get some audio interuptions during the Pete Waterman report?

I was watching an off air tape from Freeview just, & there was 2 major interuptions, once when PW was explaining his idea & again further on(The 2nd one sounded like someone had played the audio for a football report as it sounded like Ian Winter!).

I'm sure Jo Malin asked this morning 'What cure do you have for insomia?'.

Wonder how many people thought 'Listening to your show!'

I retuned to Smooth instead!

Yeah I got that sound problem on Inside Out . The timing was crap for waterman because it blanked out his big idea for apprenticeships. So we'll never know.
