A question re The Politics Show.

Anyone find it strange that they can find time in the national bit for a news summary, but not in the local bit, even if it's just headlines read out by the Midlands PS presenter?

Wales always used to (and possibly still do) give a brief summary of the latest Welsh News at the start of their opt. I suppose it's down to the local team whether they think they have time to include it!

He's with LBC Radio. He also crops up as a paper reviewer on the BBC News channel.

Ah I did enjoy the 2001 relaunch as it marked as much of a change in substance as well as the style. Before the big change Central News had become a little stale and Bob sitting on his own in a small virtual studio just didn't cut the mustard for me so was pleased that it came back bigger and better with Dan Barton at the helm and Bob, Jo and Llewella sharing presenting duties.

Shame how a few years later it doesn't come close - although fair play to a few of the old faces sticking with the programme. I was never a fan of Lucy Kite as presenter compared to the old guard but would much rather have her on with Bob than Sameena. She is just so wooden and can only imagine what it was like with Steve Clamp and Sameena in the East Midlands before these changes.

Must admit the programme isn't that bad when it's pan regional but I'd say the East Midlands is certainly getting the short end - when I watched I think there was just one story which was in Derbyshire and was just read out of vision. It may have been an off day but I would have thought they would be striving as close to a 50/50 split where possible?

Morning everybody !,

If it wasn't bad enough that us here in the East Midlands loose our own full version of ITV Central News, I just can't believe that they have the nerve to show the BIRMINGHAM backdrop during the East Midlands segment of the new ITV Central Tonight show !

When the news is being shown pan - regional during Central Tonight they should show the ITV News generic background if you know what I mean

Are they just trying to alienate us here in the East even more by showing a Brum backdrop ?

What Backdrops are ITV Central showing during the Lunchtime News & Late News ?

To be fair lets not beat around the bush here. The show is transmitted from Birmingham so I can't really see any problem in the backdrop being there. It's truthful and honest for a start. Arguably it is outside the east region but it has been in Brum for a number of years now.

BBC Press Office - BBC WM Announce New Afternoon Presenter

I wouldn't be surprised if he was pushed after 'Hardeepgate'.

Does anyone reckon we ought to have a 'Inside Out' discussion thread when it starts it's next series later this year, so to discuss all the different regional editions?

Also has Ashley's enforced absence from the show b****red up transmission of certain items, as he did the actual report?

I noticed the other week, one report from BBC West, involving Gloucestershire & one from BBC East Midlands, involving pubs, as well as one report from West Midlands!

Who is Bill Buckley working for these days normally, as last I heard he was down South? (He did a report on Black Country food!)

Bill Buckley works for LBC radio mainly as a presenter but in the past year as their food specialist too with a show specifically focused on the food industry.

I enjoyed his report on local delicacies even he's not the most relaxed of presenters on tv.

How about this then ?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/stories/2009/03_march/03/wm.shtml

Mad Mollie to Saturday breakfast.

Daz Hale to weekday early show, plus Flupton's sports reporter/sidekick.

Chinnie to Sunday mid mornings.

Danny Kelly back to weekday afternoons.

Bev Bevan of The Move & ELO & ex Saga/Smooth, joining Jimmy Franks on Sunday afternoons.

Will I miss Mollie on weekday earlies?

At least I won't be rolling my eyes as she bangs on about Redditch's answer to Dudley Zoo at home & tutting as 'Don from Edgbaston' gets yet another mention on the text & I can't get one!

It's strange I can get mentions with Flupton, Franksy, Daz & Danny, but not her!

(I've given up texting her now, as it's too much trouble!)
