david lowe of bbc news music fame was on the janice long show this morning on bbc wm. i switched on at around 10.45 to hear mr lowe explaining the inspiration behind the bbc news music. he went on to do some live mixes to air and even played the first attempt at the brief, which was undeniably average.

well worth a listen on the bbc wm website (which will appear some time after the show finishes at 12.00)

Fab fab fab! Didn't realise he also wrote one of the 80s themes and of course the music to the best ever look in the early 1990s. Ah I can just hear it now "Midlands Today...with David Davies and Kay Alexander".

Has Dan Pallett come back to Birmingham, as he did tonight's 550 bulletin?

If he's back doing 'Sport', what happens to Nadine Towell?

Does she go to 'News'?

Is it me or have Joan Cummins & Lindsey Doyle disappeared off screen?

Dan came back a couple of weeks ago, I think Nick Owen said something like 'welcome back Dan'. I think Nadine voiced on of the sport reports on Friday & I've heard her doing regular news as well.
Lindsay did a report on some artwork of some sort a few weeks back but I havent seen her since, Joan was in the newsroom last week (I often look at what's going on behind Nick & Suzanne Embarassed

I've seen him back a few times during his stint in London. Maybe he's there to provide a bit of temporary cover or his shifts for BBC News are on an ad hoc basis.

Lindsey Doyle is still reporting for MT but the few times I've seen Joan Cummins recently has been over the shoulder of the newsreader when she was in the newsroom.

Is it only me or does anyone else think Liz Copper and Lindsey are similar looking ?

I see that Sameena has made her first appearance on Central Tonight (west) - alongside Bob; looks as though we'll be seeing more of her over the coming weeks, in the run-up to the merger.

Well she wasn't half as bad as I was expecting, she's improved leaps and bounds since her days on Midlands Today, doesn't appear to be doing that Bobby Battista from CNN piercing eyes look anymore...
