I assume that part of the mass exodus from ITV Regional News is caused by them wanting to cut their wage bill? What is the betting that the remaining presenters (and any eventual new recruits) will be on much lower salaries?

I blame the Carlton contracts, they were around £200,000 p/a

I would like to say that I think Bob and Jo were worth those expensive contracts along with the rest of the main presenters from across the other central sub-regions e.g Wesley Smith and Anne Dawson.

From what I understand, ITV were 'encouraging' staff on the old Carlton contracts to go first. Let's just say we shouldn't be surprised if Bob announces his exit before too long...

This is all complete horsesh*t. No presenter was on £200k per year. I don't think Bob is going anywhere.

I don't know about the Carlton salaries, so I'll take your word for that Newswatcher, since you're normally reliable Smile

I do have it on good authority that Bob Warman may go soon (fair or otherwise)-- please note I didn't say he was going for sure! I don't know if my source heard that from a third party or from the horse's mouth... I think I'll stop digging now!)

Well if he does go next, it will be extremely sad-- on top of Llewella's and Jo's departures. Can you blame them though Confused

No no you cant blame them one bit its so sad... I would love to see wesley return to his homeland of Central as he was MR Central South - It would be nice if the whole of the Central region was reunited rather than having this massive Meridian Region!

Strange to see Ian Winter in for Nick Owen on MT yesterday - I wonder if it was short-notice as there was no sport presenter? Maybe Michael, Ashley & Giles were unavailable Wink

Also:- has Annette Finch followed Anna Brees in jumping from Central West before she's pushed - I havent seen her for ages Confused:

Giles is in the "Dont bury your head in the ground" advert.

That is disgusting signature BBCMIDS. I'm going to Adblock it.

Well that's good-bye to Jo Malin then - nice tribute of her time with Central but seemed lacking something? No Bob Warman either.
Perhaps they don't want too much fuss over one presenter leaving when there will be a few more going soon (and a couple already gone)?
