Ooh I couldn't possibly comment. Razz

Joanne Rittles has got the most unusual eyes that i've seen in quite a while.

I find it hard to keep a track on the comings and goings of the MT staff recently . Some new faces appear meanwhile Susanna Mendonca , Joan Cummings and Julianna Needhem 'vanish into the ether'

Taking of which , where did Shefalies sound eqpt end up tonight. > Shocked< It all sounded a bit weird according to Nick. Confused

I was wondering how long it would take before they did something about Shefali's microphone - it sounded terrible. Quite funny as she wasn't expecting Nick to appear beside her Laughing

get set for more 'radio' bods appearing on the telly - the BBC's very committed to broadcasting at a more local level. It already has multi-media journalists based in many sites and is recruiting more. In domestic news, using Radio Stoke's reporter to cover the Alton accident for television is precisely the kind of co-operation between radio television and web that the BBC is desperate to do much more of.

Er..she's not a radio reporter- she's been on TV for years- what's your point?

The BBC *is* recruiting more more multi-media journalists but they're not doing it to fling them on TV. The footage they might shoot in a breaking news story, is what might end up on screen...not them.

Sorry, I didn't know the reporter who covered the Alton crash was the Midlands Today reporter based in Radio Stoke, must have misread the original post. Apologies for that.

My point however, is that the BBC is using multi-media journalists across radio TV and online and beginning to expect them to cover stories for at least two media on a day-to-day basis. Radio reporters often now will take a camera kit and might be asked to get general pictures for the story as well as cover for radio. They are increasingly being asked to do packages for tv as well or come back to the studio and do an interview with the presenter. They might also have to file for the web. Apart from the national multi-media newsroom in London, there are pilots in progress in other sites where just this kind of thing is happening.

Nice to see Annette Finch with the East / West news on Central on Saturday - is Lloyd Bracey on holiday? I find he's o.k. but perhaps just a little dull - I preferred Llewella Smile

You're not alone in the latter thought Wink Llewella definitely had more charisma in my view...

Is she still working with Central West? She had been doing some reporting for East, haven't seen there for a few weeks though.

Yes, she's on Central West now & again - an o/b from somewhere in Shropshire (Bridgnorth?) a week or two ago, a couple of reports, and in the studio presenting the 6:00 (once that I know of - could have been more but I don't watch Central News every evening).

Could be-- but I've never seen her twist her head around 360 degrees Wink

She has long, wavy and black hair-- in her 30s I'd say-- medium build.

Annette's been on all Bank Holiday weekend (and a rare sighting of Bernadette Kearney on Midlands Today this evening!)

Not sure about Annette looking like an owl she has quite small eyes - here she is - I found on one of those websites that have lots of pics of newsreaders & weather presenters Shocked

No Central (West) News at 1:55pm today - instead Alistair Stewart welcomed Central viewers to London News "due to technical problems" - at least Chrissie Reidy presenting the weather made us feel "at home" Wink

Anyone know what the problem was?

Oh I have and she kept being sick over Bob , not a great edition of the news that one .Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

Annette appears to me to be the ambitious sort, this evening her very low cut blouse offered something different to the viewer that maybe Anna or Jo cannot supply.
