who do you think will be the presenters of ITV Central Sub Region if East and West Merged

I think they'll use the new presenter, Yuri Twatus, he's latvian!

Are you trying to be funny?

Haven't you seen him?

I'd heard from an Ofcom source that there won't be any ITV Midlands. The regional shows for East/West Midlands will come from Bristol.

And I've heard rumours, and I stress ONLY RUMOURS, that the news for all the South Bank controlled regions will come from Whitely.

All these little bits of information prove is that a final decision hasn't yet been made and all possibilities are being considered.

Have you really? ITV haven't even decided yet themselves yet- it's clearly a bad time to get rid of property.

There will be no "showS" for the East/West Midlands- just ONE show.

Must say, I'd heard this being discussed at a location nowwhere near Birmingham or Bristol but am quite sceptical about it as it doesn't seem logical.

It is interesting to note that, apparantly, itv Central's MD is stepping down from "other commitments" in the Birmingham area outside of those at itv Central. Wink

I noticed MT last night claimed Liz Copper was first journalist on the scene in Alton.

As she's based at Radio Stoke it's not unrealist that was first there. She was on the BBC News Channel (by 'phone) not all that long after it was first reported.

Nice to see Michelle Robinson on the Midlands Today 6:30 with Nick Owen today, I don't recall ever seeing her do this before? She is usually on early mornings a couple of days a week.

Also noticed some new faces recently, Sarah Chaundler & Faye Chambers reporting and that new sport reporter (who'se name has slipped my mind) on the 6:30 last week.

Well that's lovely! I'm sure she speaks very highly of you. Seriously, though, get set for more 'radio' bods appearing on the telly - the BBC's very committed to broadcasting at a more local level. It already has multi-media journalists based in many sites and is recruiting more. In the Madrid coverage thread, the conversation has moved on a bit to discussing how many correspondents the BBC has across the world and where they all are. In domestic news, using Radio Stoke's reporter to cover the Alton accident for television is precisely the kind of co-operation between radio television and web that the BBC is desperate to do much more of.

Er..she's not a radio reporter- she's been on TV for years- what's your point?

The BBC *is* recruiting more more multi-media journalists but they're not doing it to fling them on TV. The footage they might shoot in a breaking news story, is what might end up on screen...not them.

Copper looks very similar to Lindsey Doyle and Joanne Rittle , could be sisters.
