As it stands (for all regions) each opt will be recorded prior to 6pm by the same two presenters who you'll see in the second half. So Bob and Whoever will be across two opts at once.

The information is out there. Why are people speculating about the future of CNE? It's definitely finishing.

It was always proposed that these opts would be recorded- one wonders how they will even begin to deal with breaking news. There's no real precendent for pre-recorded news in the UK in peak time. It's a difficult step.

These opts are not being brought in to show-off a portfolio of different presenters and buildings as people on here are speculating. It will be cheap and cheerful TV.

I'd heard from an Ofcom source that there won't be any ITV Midlands. The regional shows for East/West Midlands will come from Bristol.
