Anyone spot Flupton on his bike during tonight's MT ?

He's off to gay Paree early July on said bike!

Doesn't anyone at WCR read their texts either ?

I texted StuB with the secret year last night & I never got a mention!

Good to see the back of that god awful sting on MT, a return to a nicer sting in the style of the 2007 Behind The Scenes stings.

I noticed this and it fits in well with the new brand!

It's actually one of the new stings in the music package - but they've trimmed about 2 seconds out of it presumably to make it shorter

Seems a bit odd that one of the images in the new Lambie-Nairn title sequence is of a train station electronic information board displaying "Warwick Parkway" over and over.

Where was that filmed? Birmingham New Street station or something?! Rolling Eyes

Why not actually film something "landmark-y" of Warwick(shire) itself? (Warwick Castle being perhaps the most obvious example)

Shame they couldn't drag their bums out into the wider region beyond Brum and the Black Country. Rolling Eyes

EDIT: Is it just me, or is the penultimate clip all over way too fast to stand any chance of telling what it's of? I can see sparks, like someone's welding or something, but I defy anyone to be able to take in what/where it is, without having to record and pause it!

Warwick Parkway's on the Chiltern Line so it wouldn't be at New Street. The board in the title sequence reads Lapworth, Hatton, Warwick Parkway, Warwick, Leamington Spa, so it was probably filmed at Snow Hill.

I think the quick bit you can't work out is welding or manufacturing of somekind.

There's a video of the titles here:

Indeed, a few pips are missing. If I am correct its one of the 5 Second stings, when they have tweaked it to become a 3 sec version.

Regarding the music, why are MT clueless to what bed to use. They should use the national headline bed on the opt out on the main headline sequence at Top of the network bulletin, not the regional bed!

Llewella's just announced she's leaving weekends to join us in the week.

So who's going to be the new weekender? I haven't seen Anna Brees around lately?

Anna did a couple of reports last week but as you probably saw Annette Finch was filling her slot on the ' lates' for most of the week which seemed unusual to me.

Good question about Jo-- and indeed Llewella. From what I gather, ITV is hoping to shed staff on the old-style Carlton contracts over the next few months (which are big-money AIUI). Maybe that explains Llewella's departure-- and may be Jo's?

How long has Central Tonight (both editions) been opening the programme with the presenters standing next to a plasma?

Central East has been doing that for a few months now, sometime in the spring I think. Don't know about CNW though?
