Almost as silly as ventroloquism on the radio-- yet Educating Archie was surprisingly popular

The summer schedules are starting to kick in on WM now.

So far Daz Hale has gained an extra hour, running from 7pm to 10pm, Monday to Wednesday, while BBC WM Introducing (the new music show!) also runs 7 till 10 on Thursdays.

Is there any danger of the Beeb web site people who do the programme schedules, getting both the Rob Underwood & the Friday evening listing correct yet?

For the record, Rob only broadcasts on WM (& CWR) Monday to Thursday 10pm till 12am only & not on Fridays!

Anyone seen the letters page in the Brum Mail tonight?

It's supposed to be Masala 9 till 12, then Tracey's Jail Mail(whatever that is?) 12 till 2, unless it's a schedule change not publicised.

Spotted by 'sad trekkie' sister in a pub in Essington, near Wolverhampton last night, the one & only 'StuB' from 101.8 WCR FM!

(Well she did use to work with him a few years back in his other life!)

I bought one of those cheap DAB / FM radios from ASDA last week, & somehow I'm now getting, unless there's some FM lift somewhere, Radio Stoke on 94.6, CWR on 103.7 & H & W on 104.6, albeit with a lot of hiss!

My old massive hifi never got these!

Hmm.

I was having a scan round last night & come across CWR, just as it changed over to Jenny Wilkes(who also does my head in!) Soul & Motown Sunday, despite it starting with a BBC WM jingle on BBC CWR! (Naughty naughty Jen!)

She mentioned there was a change to the show from this week.

She moves to Fridays 7 till 9 on WM only, while Satnam moves to Sundays 10 till 12.

So at a guess, the Friday WM schedule goes like this :

Drivetime - 4 till 7

Soul & Motown - 7 till 9

Doolan - 9 till 10

Then maybe the Rob Underwood Late Show 10 till 12.

Jail mail - 12 till 2.

What happens when the footy season starts again & the phone in's back?

Maybe drop Doolan & move Soul & Motown to 8 till 10?

Talking of Uncle Ed, he's off down under for 3 weeks & he's being subbed by Charlie Jordan (a she apparantly!), I'm guessing from BRMB again, which leads me to ask the question, does WM only have the phone numbers for ex BRMB jocks?

Nick is going to London 94.9 for a week reuniting with Anne Diamond, which means we might see his MT duties reduced for the time being as a result.

After 2 or 3 days of Lee Stone covering Drivetime, first Mike Taylor, then Jimmy Franks covered the rest of the week.

Lee has also got this years Saturday afternoon summer slot too.

As regards Friday evening, looks like I was right about Rob Underwood.
(I noticed CWR took the entire show from 9pm!)

Belated congrats to Jo 'Tidders' Tidman, who finally popped out a little boy, Benjamin William, end of last week!

There was also a rare in vision sighting of Bernadette Kearney's hubby, Clive Eakin, CWR & WM's cricket correspondent one day last week too.

Caught the last half hour or so of 'Up & Happy' on WCR too! (When are you back Lee BTW? You only said Autumn!)

And don't forget to 'check out' the 'sad trekkies' former work mate at 6pm tonite!

I never knew Bernadette Kerney is married to Eakin! He doesn't quite beat the superb homegrown Geoff Foster though.

That should be interesting.
